Adhesive won't pull clean at the roll edges

First two or three feet of each roll came off the roll cleanly, but after that the adhesive grabbed and pulled at the edges, leaving 4+ yards of each 5 yard roll useless. Don't know if the rolls are old, or have been stored in high hear, etc., but could not be less impressed.
