Great array

Arrived in good condition with a light coat of oil on the files inside the vinyl pouch. Neither Amazon nor the Pferd catalog has much info about the shapes of the files, so here is a list. All but two (as noted) of the files are tapered toward the end. I am eschewing most file-specific terminology, and describing the cross-sectional shape in plain terms. Rectangular with sharp 90% corners: one tapered, one not Rectangular, but the two short edges are rounded: one tapered, one not Sharp wedge, narrow back has no teeth "Barette" (a flattened triangle-like shape with teeth only on the longest edge) Half circle (well, more like a circle truncated by a chord. this has the biggest curvature radius of any in the set) Triangular Oval (medium curvature) Circle (smallest curvature) Square Lastly, one whose cross-sectional shape is best explained as the intersection of two circles (as in a Venn diagram) I am not experienced using files. However, I have been using them to remove rough casting edges and improve the general quality of a decorative brass door knocker. For that purpose, it has been working very well allowing flexibility for a variety of shapes and clearance in tight spaces.

I like Pferd files. This is a nice set. Glad there is a larger spot inside the pouch to fit the PFERD 16076 wooden needle file handle.
