Every home should have one
It is inexpensive and somewhat limited in the information it can give. For example, often when it indicates thunderstorm conditions, it doesn't guarantee you're getting a thunderstorm but really just that there are some cumulonimbus clouds overhead. I like the high/low daily reading. It has helped me to plan my garden planting this year. I am planting a grapefruit tree and, without this AccuRite forecaster, I might have planted prematurely and killed the sapling with a freeze.

Poor design of battery compartment in outside sensor
I generally like this device, but every month or two it stops synching. When I open the outside battery box the batteries have slipped out of place. The compartments are too large for the batteries and they can slide around. I've partially solved this problem by putting cotton between and over the batteries to hold them in place. I've had good battery life using rechargeable batteries.

Very glad I have it, but it doesn’t work forever
I work outside, so it’s important for me to know the outdoor temperature when I’m getting dressed in the morning. With this device, it’s so easy! I have the indoor unit in my bedroom, and I just look at the outdoor temperature and dress accordingly. It also has indoor temperature, indoor/outdoor humidity, barometric pressure, dew point and moon phase - very cool. The only downside is that it not accurate after a year or two, and I have to buy a new one. But since it’s otherwise great and relatively inexpensive, I just buy a new one.

Good while it lasted
I have tried several models of indoor/outdoor thermometer/weather stations. This one periodically stops registering. The outdoor readings stop changing when the weather changes. Unless you are aware of the current temperature, you may not notice for a while that it isn't working. There is a three-way switch on the back of the indoor module. Sometimes just changing the channel would get it to read again. Other times I would have to remove the batteries from one or both units and re-pair them. When it worked, it had more functions than other models I've owned. Dew point and/or heat index came in handy. Moon phases are convenient to see at all times. One day it, like all others I've owned, just stopped working. This one made it 3.5 years.

We got this to replace a different brand that kept losing the connection to the outside sensor. This one has worked fine in that regard. The 12-hour weather forecast has been reasonably accurate. We like the fact that it can tell you 24-hour highs and lows, and that it shows indoor and outdoor relative humidity as well as the phase of the moon. One disadvantage is that the LCD screen has lower contrast than our earlier unit, so that you might have to turn on a light to read this one. You can't read either one if the room is completely dark, but we have the two displays side by side and the higher contrast of the other screen definitely makes it more visible at low room light levels. This is still a good unit overall, and seems to be reporting accurate temperatures.

A good, cost-effective brand of compact weather station, with easy set-up!
All in all, this AcuRite compact weather station is reasonably satisfying, and its indoor display monitors a plethora of data within its fairly easy to read screen. On the top row of the display, the atomic time and date display are visible, although that information is marred by its small size, especially when viewing across a room. Meanwhile, this unit does have several merits that consider it worthy of recommendation. Not only does this station have an outdoor and indoor temperature reading plus humidity, but also it records daily high/low temperature readouts, as well as barometric pressure, current moon phase display, and even a 12 hour projected forecast depicted by weather symbols. Another big plus is the really simple set-up. as well as the fact it comes with a full set of printed instructions in the package. Moreover, this AcuRite unit utilizes battery power for both its indoor monitor as well as its outdoor sensor, which makes it more portable for easier placement. Although the weather station performs decently once installed, the outdoor temperature, and especially the outside humidity, are inaccurate by several degrees and percent, respectively. One small consolation is the unit readings can be calibrated to be more accurate, if need be. In spite of this, the other data on its display seems to be more reliable. Furthermore, the outdoor sensor is a cinch to sync with the indoor monitor, and also simple to place outdoors, with a built-in upper hanger. Consequently, I do recommend this for casual weather hobbyists, like myself!

Works well
This works well for me, is accurate, even right now in our extreme cold, -15 with -24 windchill. Only down side is it’s hard to read, the background is dark with black numbers. Needs a lighter or white background to be easier to read without picking it up or getting close

Stylish and Accurate
We've had the weather station for two weeks now, and as I write it is still in the 'Learning' phase for the forecast feature. Thus far, the predicted weather is proving pretty accurate, so maybe it'll get even better when the process is complete. Initially I wanted a full-colour display, but discovered the screen has to be awakened every time you need a reading. The LCD display on this unit is permanently on and is very easy to read. The outdoor transmitter is positioned about 10m from the base station in our home, and the wireless signal strength shows 5/5 bars. This product fully meets our expectations and requirements. Recommended.
