A classic, mid-century look, the Bergen Torchiere is a modern lamp that creates warm, room-filling light. Black and antique brass metals are mixed to create a style that can fit into many settings. At a 71 in. total height, the Bergen Torchiere is perfect for next to the sofa or the corner of a bedroom. A frosted glass shade adds elegance to the look. An Adesso patented 300-Watt Double Socket construction allows for two crisscrossed sockets, each holding on/off 150-Watt incandescent bulbs or equivalent CFL's, which provides approximately 3 times more light than a typical torchiere using a 150 Watt 3-way bulb to illuminate an entire room. A simple high/low rotary switch is located on the pole to adjust the brightness. Bulbs are not included. The three-way switch adjusts the light from low setting, high setting to off position.

Beautiful, simple lamp

These are beautiful lamps! My only gripe is that the shade is thin so it had minor dents in it. Not enough to return it, but enough to notice. One of the lamps I ordered was missing a piece and their customer service team was very responsive and helpful!

Beautiful but flawed

While the lamp is lovely, it came with a couple minor dents in the base and a very dented shade. We were able to bend it back to a reasonable shape but it is not perfect. It's frustrating that it isn't without flaws but not worth the hassle of returning.

Gives lots of light, but....

I needed a lamp that would illuminate my whole study, including my desk and an adjacent couch. The 300 watts of illumination do that well. But the glass shade is very big and somewhat ungainly. Another problem is that two 150 Watt incandescent bulbs give off a lot of heat as well as light, while two CFL 150-watt equivalents are so large that they protrude above the top rim of the shade. All this said, I looked at lots of websites and lamps before I bought this lamp, and I didn't find anything I liked better and that was more functional.

Classy MCM

Nice mid century modern lamp. The shade looks like linen which I love. A tad pricey, but well worth it because it’s made well. I bought two, and a matching floor lamp. Would recommend.

Arrived without the shade!

Arrived incomplete. Also does not work with LED bulbs. It must be a very old design since LED's have been around so long. On the up-side, it's a very nice looking floor lamp. Still very disappointing to receive without all the parts needed to use it.

Utter disappointment

Not worth $130! They look better in the photo. They seem shorter than pictured and look cheap in person.
