Perfect for family cooking
This frying pan is huge. I use three burners on my five burner stove to heat it evenly and I. Love. It. I can cook four chicken breasts at once! I can cook a whole meal, and it’s not crowded in the pan. I love this thing.

Excellent value and much better than Telon pans
Can't beat the price point for this one given the size. If you have a large family then this is absolutely needed and you will appreciate it. I like that it came preseasoned and we have been using it regularly.

Huge surface
This is amazingly large- I can do several large steaks in this in the oven when the weather is too cold outside. I hang it on a sturdy hanger in the closet when not in use. Good thickness too.

As well built as the name brands
The weight and build is what to expect of any cast iron pan produced these days. AKA interior rougher than one would like. I gave it 4 stars due to the cast in ridge on the bottom of the pan preventing it from sitting flat on glass top stove (problem being solved installing gas stovetop soon). They failed to picture or mention the issue anywhere so be aware. It will still work on glass top just not as well as it could.

It's great.
Typically, when a skillet says it is preseasoned, it really isn't. This one came with a solid preseasoning. I still added my own, but it was very easy to do so. This thing is HUGE. And very heavy. You can get a whole meal for a family into this. I plan to also use it as a helicopter landing pad, making it a versatile addition to my home.

Excellent quality. Worth paying that extra bucks
Before I begin my review, I would like to state that iron skillets (be it any brand) are not something that is easy to handle and clean. To start with, they are very heavy. You will observe that they are not non stick and the handles get heated while slow cooking. Besides, such skillets need to be maintained well (should not be washed with soap after every use) and periodically seasoned for long life. So I would give an adverse review just because of these points. Pros: The cast iron skillet is well seasoned and polished. The finishing is really good and the skillet in itself lookes sturdy and good value for money. The skillet dissapates heat well and perfect for slow cooking. The thickness of the skillet was uniform and had looked Like a product that you would pass on to the next generation. This skillet is way better than the Rock brand skillet (I bought one and had to return as I did not like the quality). Cons: As written earlier, the handle of the skillet gets hot and one needs to use a cloth or a silicon handle (sold seperately by Amazon). This is something that Amazon provide with the skillet. Or, a wooden handle could do wonders. Secondly, I felt that the skillet was so big that I did not have a lid suitable for it. This is a big downside. I did not see Amazon selling this seperately either. Something that I would love to have. Overall, i feel that this product is highly recommended.

More versatile than a non stick
Far better to use than a non stick once it's been oiled. Great for use in the oven as well as on the hob, makes a great pizza and gives you a work out moving it round (yes, it is heavy).

1.) Looks premium and is An elegant addition to one's kitchen. 2.) Requires descipline in maintaing the pan to prevent rusting:- - Before the very first use it is supposed to be washed with hot water without any soap followed by immediate drying with a dry cloth. ( There must be no water smudges or droplets on this pan before storing,ever). - seasoning- one unique thing about this cast iron pan is that it is required to be layered with a uniform coat of cooking oil after and preferrably before cooking also. The entire process is called SEASONING and involves applying any available cooking oil evenly on the surface of the pan (inside out , first few times) followed by heating the pan on lowest flame until vapours of smoke start coming out off the oil coated surface of the heated pan ( smoking point reached ). This process is essential in making the pan naturally non stick, as by heating ,we are permanently polymerizing the oil on the pan surface, which , if done properly makes the pan effectively non stick for every subsequent use. 3.) cast iron pans are highly durable and can last for years BUT ! Do not drop them or else they might crack. They may also crack if very cold water is suddenly poured in a very hot cast iron pan. 4.)The pan is thick and distribute heat evenly and retains the same for a long time. Therefore, only low-medium flame should be used only, while cooking in a cast iron pan. 5.) Food cooked in this pan is cooked evenly and is fortified with iron and hence prevent Anemia. I always encourgae my mom and sisters to use cast iron pan while cooking on a daily basis to meet the required iron content in their food, as women are more likely to suffer from iron deficiency. 6.) one big advantage of the pan is that, it is the least toxic material to cook your food in ( even better than stainless-steel ) which is why i choose to cook in cast iron. Another advantage is its non stick property which in my opinion seems to increase with use and time due to repeated oiling of its surface , before cooking the food and after cleaning the pan and storage. 7.)cleaning - DO NOT EVER USE SOAP or any type of DETERGENT while cleaning a cast iron utensil as it may corrode the surface of the pan making it more susceptible to rusting. Using soap also makes the surface of the pan labil which can cause excessive leaching of iron in your food. For cleaning , simply use hot water and rub with your hands or with a nylon brush to remove any stuck or burnt residue. You wont even need a brush after sometime if you have seasoned the pan well initially. 8.) Storage- after cleaning , dry the pan thoroughly with a clean and dry towel. Then rub very little amount of oil on its entire surface and store the pan in a dry place. You have to do this after every single use to prevent its rusting. 9.) Do not cook high acid food (like one with a tomato gravy or lots of lemon juice ) in the pan, its not good for its surface. 10.) Mine is 10.5 inch size and is enough for making a dish for two-three people. Go for the 12 inch size if you want to cook for more people. CARE FOR THE PAN AND IT WILL CARE FOR YOU. Finally i would like to say if you like to experiment with cookwares , just go for it. You has to have a cast iron utensil in your kitchen. Cook in it and you will feel the difference.

Best Cast Iron Pan for the Price
This cast iron pan is much better than anything else available in the market for This price range. The pan retains heat and is a dream to use on induction . The pan does not rust even if you leave water in the pan overnight which has been a issue with many other cast iron pans in the past. (ESP De Buyer). The pan will require occasional seasoning but usually is just cleaned with a brush and boiling water. This pan is heavy but not that heavy that it becomes difficult to cook with. It transfers easily between the oven and the cooker . I saw this item at the Amazon store in New York and realised the UK price was cheaper I can’t recommend this pan enough and I have to say that this is my best budget kitchen buy of the last year.
