LOL...I broke it!!
I received the two amazing jars from the Amazon Warehouse...awesome place to go. As I was trying to follow directions (destructions) on putting the metal ring around the jar and getting that loop over the hook it broke. How do I get a new one? I love these jars!!

Have loved these for over five years
These were a bit out of my budget even when I bought them in 2015, but I took a chance, and I'm glad I did. They are easy to clean, not too heavy, and they work well. My measuring cups fit in them just fine. I'm probably going to order two more for my whole wheat and bread flour because the OXO containers I'm using for those just aren't working out (at half the price). I had zero problems getting the handle on the jar, but they do come loose every once and a while, and I have to fix it. I never hold the jar by the handle alone; I always put one hand under the jar, even when carrying it. I don't deem this to be a huge issue in our household.

Good and sturdy.
This was perfect for my pickled eggs and beets. I just wish they had sold singles. I didn't need two jars.

the lid will not screw down tight
I love these jars and had previously bought them at Walmart but they no longer carry them. I use them for storage. Usually well satisfied. 1 of the 2 in this order the lid will not turn down tight. I have never had this issue before so would definately recommend them.

HANDLES
Unable to attach handles. Instructions and pictures just not clear. In fact I broke one handle trying to stretch around mouth of jar. Metal broke twice. In addition I found the same size jar at the local grocery store for $10.00 less per jar.

Handle won’t stay together.
Handle will not stay on. Pops off every time. And yes it is on the right way. Its not fitting on jar. I need to return. I love the jar but I want a jar with handle.

Great function and form
I love the size of the jar. I use it to store sugar and flour and the mouth is large enough to fit a 1/2 cup measuring cup. The jar seals up nice and tight. The glass and hardware is sturdy. It was a bit tough to assemble one of the jars because the wire handle's hook was off by 1/4 inch. We had to get the pliers out and now it works fabulously.

Room for improvement on this product
Just received these two, 1-gallon barrel jars in the mail today. One was chipped where the 'bail'-type handle assembly is supposed to wrap around the glass top, so I'm thinking that this will break in a very short amount of time. (Is it somebody's return because they tried to assemble it and ended up chipping the top, I wonder?) Also, it is a frustrating task to try to put the handle on these barrel jars. I don't know how anyone could possibly assemble these carrying handles without a pair of pliers. My fingers are red, pinched and sore from attempting to do it, and I still have not been able to put the handles on. My spouse has walked away from trying to assemble the handle onto the glass barrel -- and he's a carpenter! If it's so easy, then why don't they come all assembled with the handles in place? Junk. Junk. Junk. Should have just used the money to purchase something else that would have been more worthwhile. I do not recommend this product to anyone! (There is no rubber seal under the cap, just a heavy paper-type of liner, so it's definitely going to leak if tipped at an angle.)

Jars are great! But the handles…
I used to consider myself an intelligent person… until I got these jars. I still can’t figure out how to put the handles together. The diagram that is provided is of no help. For me to say that I can’t figure this supposedly simple thing is something considering I’m usually the one in the household designated to fix things and figure them out. But not this. Perhaps if there was a video for help, I could figure it out… so I took off a star for poor explanation on how to assemble the handles.

Amazing!
Love my new jars! Really nice. TIP: Don't try to connect wire hooks for the handle onto the glass jar neck itself directly. I've seen some reviews where they could not assemble it and saying how hard it is, but in reality is very easy. Put together wires and then, slip them down onto the jar neck slowly in zig-zag motion. After you just add, (hook) wooden handle.
