5-Stars even after 9 years of use!!
I purchased one of these bird baths a few years ago because I was looking for something with a heater for winter. I've had mine for two years now and love it. I just bought another one for my parents for Christmas. Granted, it is not a thing of beauty exactly, but it's easy to clean and maintain, it's got a reasonably stable base, the birds perch easily on the lip (not to thick or rounded for their feet to perch on), and it offers a depth that they like when they hop in for a bath. The heater in mine is still going strong and last night we had 16 degree temps and it didn't ice up at all. The birds are so appreciative of the unfrozen water source in the winter and it offers a lot of fun entertainment to watch them come drink and on a sunny day in the winter, a whole gaggle of birds come in for their bath! I remove the heater in the summer and store it until the next winter. If you enjoy bird watching and want to give them a good water source they'll thank you for, you won't be disappointed with this product! Note: I use a bit of black electrical tape to tack the heater cord underneath to the pole base--it keeps the water off the cord when you're cleaning or refilling it or when it's raining/snowing. 7/22/17 Update: My bird bath keeps going strong and it's been about seven years since I bought it. I never imagined it would last that long! I use the heater every year and still carefully store it when it's not cold enough to use it. We had one of the coldest winters on record last year and the heater kept the water thawed out every day and night through it all. The bowl has never cracked despite my knocking this over frequently with the hose. The plastic is still in pretty good shape and so it the stand. The stand has some tiny bits of rust, but it would be a cinch to sand that off and throw a bit of protective spray paint on it. I love this bird bath because it just works perfectly for the birds to perch on the side. The depth is also perfect. So many decorative bird baths are pretty, but all wrong for the birds to have a good perch that they can grip and a depth that's right. Many are too deep without a rock or two in the center. And the heater means my darlings can have that needed water all year round. The one I purchased for my parents is also still looking good. If you truly want to do something for your birds, this feeder is tops in my book!! UPDATE 11/16/19 I installed the heater once again and we had some terribly low October temps (down to 8 degrees one morning), but the heater is STILL WORKING like a champ! I'd love to replace the bowl, but it's not too bad after nine years of use in hot sun and cold winters. The stand could use a tad of love with a few spritzes of black spray paint, but honestly, it's been going strong for years.

Best I’ve found!
I’ve actually owned three of this same model over the years. A bear destroyed the first one, and the second one finally burned out after almost 10 years. I like the depth, and the shear edges. I’m in northern MN, and this one keeps the water liquid, even during double digits below zero F.

Works great, especially in comparison!
Long term update. Wonderful, especially in comparison! I should have gotten two! We bought this at the end of 2021 and it is now Feb of 2023. This has worked great! It melts the water but doesn't make the water "hot" (60s or so). Along the line I bought another type because it was less expensive, and it was junk. It made the water relatively hot, causing it to steam a lot and evaporate quickly. But this one doesn't do that. This is an important issue. In the other one (the junk) the water was so warm that birds didn't use it. And, as I said, the water evaporated quickly. By contrast, with this one the birds use it frequently, and evaporation is much slower (of course it occurs, but not an issue). This one is also easy to clean. Some people have complained about the stand. I know what they are talking about but I think the issue is relatively trivial. With a little "tweaking" my stand works fine. Prices have gone up a lot, but that seems to be the problem of this era. Again, by comparison, given how well it works and its durability, I still think it is a good value. I'm happy to help our birds!

Great product
I looked at many heated bird baths online and am glad I went with this one. It's working well in sub zero temperatures and I've seen birds use it. Easy to assemble. Had it up and running quickly. Longer cord than most. Would buy again.

EDIT: wow!! WORKS GREAT. A FEW SUGGESTIONS FOR MANUFACTURER.
Edit: ***Day 1: LOVE IT. Works as described, no water filtration warming so it’s ok if it becomes empty, small and low profile, but holds a lot of water (more than a “common” birdbath). Keeps temp at a nice lukewarm temp and this, doesn’t break your energy bill by heating alllll the time. PROS: MANY. CONS: few, and they’re more suggestions for the manufacturer. Cable is short but I understand why. Bath part is totally removable easily from stand—maybe too easily. Stand is ok but very wobbly—must use stakes included. Suggestions: add solar charging for even better efficiency and to reduce electric use, add an option or make another bath that’s capable of being set on the ground, add or make capable of using solar and rechargeable batteries instead of electricity to avoid having to run many feet of outdoor extension cord to further or more remote locations. (In a licensed wildlife rehabber and have been lookin for a way to keep water in liquid form during the winter for my released that are on remote land rather than having to carry gallons of warm water out there daily and nightly. Yes, I would still have to carry water out there to fill the baths but but as frequently). *** Don’t hesitate buying this. Get it. It takes close to a gallon of water which is a LOT for a birdbath, which is a very small amount of water in regards to keeping it from freezing. In Chicago, it was NEGATIVE 60 winchills, breaking records of lowest temperatures ever throughout history. The ice age lasted several days. This birdbath did NOT FREEZE!!! And it survived the frigid and uninhabitable temps. VERY IMPRESSED.

WARNING - overpriced flimsy metal stand that doesn't fit the bowl
I wanted a bird table with a stand because we have heavy snow here and I thought a stand would be safer than putting the bath on a log or similar place - however - Shock, Horror - 1. the metal the stand is made out of is so flimsy that when you attempt to screw the legs together with the provided bracket both the bracket and stand bend - also, you cannot get them screwed tight together so the stand will wobble anyway - and I have some fairly big birds here...... 2. the instructions say to put the bath on the open ends of the stand - however the open ends of the stand are so mish-shapen that they won't hold the bath - this may be why they were covered with plastic ends but the plastic ends don't grip against the silicon bath either 3. The final build will be wobbly - I was unable to fit the bird bath on the stand without it being at an angle 4. This quality of the product and the end result have the feel of being someone's first metalwork school project - and building the stand is very easy, it's just the product quality is low 5. And after all this - the bird bath is faulty and doesn't work. Unfortunately I was unable to return the product - I thought I was buying from amazon but it was sent by "Golda's Kitchen" who refused to even reply to my request for a refund or replacement. This product is such low quality for the money please don't buy it. You can buy a bowl on it's own for half the price of this piece of junk and that is what I wish I had done - though, like mine, it may be faulty and still not work (try to choose a different type). The words "quality control" do not apply to either the product or the service. AVOID at all costs. Possibly the worst Amazon purchase I have ever made.

The stand is useless piece of garbage.
Stand was impossible to put together , very awkward to assemble, weak and cheap stand. Ended up putting it on an outdoor table, and does work in Canadian weather. So far the birds are avoiding it or have not discovered it.

It’s easy to clean and serves its purpose perfectly!
I bought this heated bird bath in 1999 and it just quit this year!! So I ordered again and am very happy with it. So are the birds and squirrels! It’s just the right size and depth. I put a flat rock in the middle because the smaller birds like to stand on it to drink.

Works at -30c
Very happy with this heated birdbath. It keeps the water ice free even at -30c. The birds love it.
