They don’t make them like they use to
I’ve been wearing ariot boots sense 2007. They use to be great boots. Good price, great product. They are not that way anymore. The boots now are made cheap, and don’t last. The price has gone way up on these over the years. The fit on them is tighter then they use to be. The nome steel toe boots fit better then the steel toe but ariots quality just isn’t what it use to be.

Be prepared
I bought these boots because I was in need of new work boots I do mostly landscaping type work. I have a pair of Ariat cowboy boots that I were and I love them and they fit great so I figured Id give these a try. I've been wearing them about a month and they have held out the water fine no wet feet boot seems to be of good quality like one would expect. The reason I wanted to write the review though is because these boots where a bear to break in. They fit super tight when bran new and I was surprised by that considering I bought the same size boot as the other pair of Ariat's I have. They did break in and feel much better though after a few weeks except the toe. This is the first pair of boots I have bought with the composite toe would never buy steel toes because of thermal regulation but seeing as these aren't steel toes and make for some nice protection I though I would give them a try. This is what I have to say about that considering that these boots are nice and snug there is no wiggle room. I absolutely hated the composite toe at first it was just uncomfortable all the time now that the boots are broken in the toe feels fine on level ground or going up hill but when going down hill my toes and foot still press into the composite and its not comfortable. Might be a simple fix by ordering the next width bigger I actually wish Id ordered a EE instead of a D like I usually were probably would have made breaking the boots in much better and still fit plenty snug or maybe even consider ordering a half size bigger, I wouldn't do any more than that though its nice to have boots that aren't sloppy and pull your heal in tight and Ariat boots do that nicely. So by no means am I knocking the boot just wanted to let ppl know that they are a bear to break in and don't have much for wiggle room. I am happy with the boot and probably could have avoided any discomfort by finding a pair to try on in a store first.

Great Looking Boots !!! but get ready for the pain!!!
I ordered these from Amazon March 27th and got them the very next day..crazy fast shipping. I was looking for a nice looking work type boot for everything from helping a farmer with cattle, and a fair amount of construction type work, etc... I was at a western store and the lady recommended Ariat Workhog but they were $179.99 at the store. Anyway I got home and did some research and Amazon nailed it again with a savings of approx. $40 compared to the store...way to go Amazon. Like I said they came the next day and couldn't wait to get them on. Wow was I in for a suprise. I ordered 1/2" size larger than my usual size, also a D Medium, and I almost popped veins in my forehead getting them on, I wore them for approx. 5 hours doing various things and I could hardly walk anymore my toes hurt that bad also different areas around my foot. I did some research on how to soften them up and most folks recommended the soaking in bathtub then letting them dry while on. Well I did that and that seemed to help ALOT!!! I now have 3 days of walking on them and they are softening up quite a bit. I think a few more days of breaking them in and I will love these boots as they are a really nice looking work boot. I have had steel toe work boots and steel toe tennis shoes before and they hurt for a while also but not this bad. Yes I would recommend these boots minus the break in period.

Reliable, gets the job done
One year update: My husband works in building maintenance. He is moving constantly moving. He has no issues with the steel toe bothering him when he is squatting. We live where it rains every week, and one year later water has yet to break through the shoes. He is having issues being able to take them on and off because the back of the shoe is so tough it has molded around where you initially stick your heel in. For this reason (tugging off his shoes at the end of the day, it's almost time for new ones. Not sure these are worth the money if they only last a year... but if waterproof interests you, these should be your pick.

Great Work Boots
These work boots truly are waterproof--use them in water (and mud) and they clean up nicely. These bad boys do not shrink when they dry up after getting wet!! Size is perfect as expected, no need to size up. Ample room in toe box too--a fine pair of work boots!!

Good boot, comfortable and actually waterproof
So far so good, definitely waterproof had them submerged almost up past my ankle feet never got wet. Only took a day to really break them in. Wish there was a little more fancy stitching towards the toe, all in all a great boot with great support. More comfortable than my going out boots. I guess we’ll see how long they last.
