Introducing the newest from Astro's popular Slim Light line, the 72SL! The 72SL is a new take on the best selling 65SL designed for 2021 with a host of upgrades and improvements. Those include an adjustable 720 lumen COB LED light, new top flashlight and a new extra-large 3,350mAh battery. Also unique to the new model is Quick-Charge 2.0, topping up that large battery that offers 3.5 hours of run time in just 2.5 hours. All with the more durable and easier to insert included USB-C cable and Quick-Charge wall adapter. The new on/off buttons are located on the rear of the light for both light sources, and can be adjusted with the recessed thumb wheel on the side for the 60-720 lumens from the main light. The back of the light gets two new additional magnets and a flattened rear body for mounting against surfaces. And of course it retains the popular features of the 65SL which include a steel ball swivel base, 20lb magnet and ratcheting extendable base hook and green LED’s on the side of the light’s body to indicate current charge level while in use.

Excellent light for working on the car. Magnets are strong and light is bright

This was a huge help in a suspension replacement project. The magnet sticks well to brake calipers and other parts of the car, and the swivel is easily adjustable but stays put. I do wish the first press of the on button would turn on the larger light, but overall it's a five star product.

Great light. Well made. Not junk

I read some reviews, and decided that these Astro lights are a very good brand. Upon recieving the two I ordered, I was immediately impressed wiith the build quality. Nice lights for sure. Bright, and rugged. I like the USB-C charging. I wish it had a a cradle with some exposed terminals instead of relying on a plug. I decided on this light over the wireless charging pad version due to some reliability concerns on other lights reviews. This particular model I sought out because it had a higher LED count and was a little larger. I bought two so could swap out with a charged unit on standby, if needed, or simply have one in a second location. I used these for over 6 hours on low setting, and I'm sure could go longer. So far, I'm very happy with them. I actually could have sized down a little, as it's a little bigger in use than I anticipated. Tight quarters on Audi's. ;)

Exceeds My Expectations

My wife bought this for me for Christmas. I wrench on all our vehicles and used to rely on dewalt lights while working on them. This light is amazing! It's bright, lasts longer than than advertised and charges quickly. I dropped it once and thought it was going to be toast, but it was fine. Don't know why I waitrd so long to purchase one of these. Will probably buy a second one soon.

These worked perfectly for my needs.

The magnets are strong and hold the light well, There is a magnet on the bottom that swivels and a magnet on the side so it can sit flat against a cabinet for storage. Great for retrieving dropped tools and stuff. :) The control button shifts through the tip light and bar light and off. A little different than the previous model. Duration is acceptable, at least 4 continuous hours. Light will start to flash to warn of low battery. Charging rate is twice as flash of the previous version. 1.7 amps on my meter vs 0.7 amps. Be sure to use the supplied charging cable or a good cable or you can melt the charging cable and short the cable out. This light uses a USB-C charging port. Previous versions used a USB-MICRO-B (?) Over all, I love this light.

A great light for the garage

Had a chance to put the 72 SL through its paces for the last two months. Compared to the 65SL, its slightly brighter, USB-C charging and has magnets on the back to increase the versatility in mounting positions. Astro lights are generally tougher and more durable than the knockoffs found on Amazon and those at Harbor Freight. Also usually spec'ed with a higher quality battery cell. Well worth the premium in my mind. Also love the auto shutoff when the battery gets drained down. Have killed a few cells by accidentally leaving the light on. Only reason why I am giving this 4 stars is the user interface changed slightly on this one versus the 65sl to the extent the 65sl is still the light I reach for first. The rotary switch doesn't turn on the main light anymore. Instead you must hit the button on the back twice which is harder with gloves on and it first cycles through the light on the tip of the light that I personally never use as most flashlights are a better option.
