Comfortable right out of the box!

I was a little nervous when I pulled this out of the box because the saddle felt so stiff. I braced myself for a long break-in period, but was surprised with immediate comfort! The shorter nose makes it easier for me to mount and dismount for the many stops and starts that are part of a city commute.

There’s a reason so many people use these.

Not only is this saddle absolutely beautiful, it is the most neutral saddle I’ve ever ridden in since I started cycling. I’ve put several hundred miles in on it and I don’t feel like it’s broken in yet, but it’s never been uncomfortable, even on long rides. The craftsmanship is top notch. I am also an equestrian and though it is a much sturdier, heavier leather than horse people typically use, it is the highest quality. I have no doubt this saddle will last a very, very long time. If you’ve been considering one, just do it. I wish I had one of these much sooner.

Unbelievable

People sing for it, and I like the companies that do things with enthusiasm, so I gave it a try although It's quite expensive. It didn't disappoint me! I am lucky that i didn't need to break it in, felt very comfortable from the very beginning, I would say 8 out of 10. After a 4 days tour with family, we came back home, didn't feel anything different from the first day, But I didn't complain, as I thought it was good enough. After a few days when I rode my bike again I was like: holy shit It's so comfortable! Worth the money! JUST BUY IT.

Gorgeous and well fitting

Okay, this saddle does take some getting used to, for me anyway, I'm in my 50s and not as plush as I used to be! But by riding my bike 30 minutes a day it took about 10 days to break in. The first couple days I could feel it, but it was not as noticeable as some other things I've felt in this area before, and you know what I mean. The support on my sit bones is just exactly where it should be. In the past I had a great women-specific gel seat on a touring bike, so I do know what support in the right place feels like. Besides all this functionality, the saddle looks fantastic. Quality and style. My only concern is that it might get stolen, so I may get one of those thin, thin steel cable locks and thread it through the rails and around the frame if I ever have to leave my steed in a public place. So far I only ride it from home and back. Anyway, it's worth the money to have style, function, quality, and the "look of a serious cyclist". LOL. When you get past 50 it's time to enjoy the small luxuries. This is one.

Used/returned sold as new

The previous owner did a reasonable job of repackaging it, but getting a used saddle (however gently) when you ordered and paid for a new one is a little bit annoying. The adjustment wrench was bouncing around unrestrained in the box, and the envelope that contains it and the instructions had been opened. I should have purchased from a LBS.

Better the second time, thanks to Amazon Prime Service

The first saddle was defect (chipped). Amazon replaced at no cost and now we are talking! I have used this saddle for 10+ years and had to replace it (my mistake) because I washed my bike with the saddle on. SUGGESTION ON FIRT USE: FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION. Brooks includes some saddle sauce. You want to grease the seat UNDER and the under seams. Not the top, it is already pre treated. Let the sauce sink in for 24 hours before installing on bike and remove saddle if you are planning to wash the bike with soap:-)) xox to Amazon Prime Members Service

It's a Brooks

After buying and breaking in my first Brooks I'm immediately in the cult. I got this for my wife who found the full size too long and now loves the shorter model. Plus the tan leather looks fantastic. It needs a few hundred miles to break in, then it's the best saddle you'll ever own. They say you'll swear at a Brooks for a while at first, then swear by it for life. They're a bit heavy but it's a small price to pay for a saddle you can spend all day on and never notice it.
