Great Alzheimers Toy
My Mom has gone for years with little challenges from Alzheimers, and suddenly took a downturn in her abilities. It has been challenging for her and to witness. She seemed to respond well to a cause and affect item, so I ordered this gumball machine type toy. She is able to say her colors and numbers easily even though some other words are harder for her and don't come out easily. She absolutely loved playing with this because it was fun. You turn one of the knobs, and then the balls roll down into the bottom. There's a clear door that opens easily and stays up while you remove the balls from below. It's not designed for adult hands so it was a little tricky to get the balls out of thr bottom. She had to use one finger from each hand to maneuver the ball free. It also stacks them and you can see the ball above but must take the lowest ball out first. They won't release until the lower ball comes out first. She figured it out and because of the Alzheimers, she would ask what she needed to do again and again. The opening in the top is nice and wide so putting them back in was simple. She had a fabulous time playing with it, and the sound was just enough for her to feel engaged and not rattled as some toys are too noisy. She kept asking about who made it, or where I got it because it was so delightful to her. She is an artist, so the vibrant colors of the balls and the contrasting numbers on each ball were stimulating to her. It made a game and was a way for me to be engaged and ask her questions like you would a toddler. It's sad, yet the speech therapist said repeating words she knows is good and will stimulate her brain. This toy did all those things and I am so happy she is happy. We have a way to play together since conversations are different now. She smiled and laughed alot. The handles that turn could be a little bigger, but again it's designed for a 2 year old. They could also be a little easier to turn, she had to work at it a bit. The balls would sometimes get stuck and need to be rattled in the machine to fall down the ramp to the bottom. I was teaching her to shake it. I'd say, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle the top, and she would laugh. I am so grateful to have found the ideal toy for my precious Mom. Alzheimers is really tough, and this made us both feel more positive and engaged.

Good product
This is super cute. I am a speech therapist. I work on numbers, colors, verb vocabulary, and concepts (in, out, top, bottom, etc...) with this. It is engaging and colorful. All of my younger clients (under 3) love this. It is also bigger than I expected (but I didn't read the product description so I didn't know beforehand how big it would be).

My Children Absolutely Love this Toy
My 3.5-year-old and 20 month-old twins love this bubble gum machine. All three keep going back to play with this toy. They put the balls in, press, pull or tube a lever and the balls come out the bottom. This is a great toy for recognizing and labeling numbers 1-10. A must have toy!

Clever idea but poorly executed
I gave this to my toddler grandson. There are three mechanisms to release the balls into the chamber. He's at the lever stage, and the remaining switches operate differently, theoretically adding options as he masters the other switches. In actuality, the weight of the balls cause them to fall through, negating the necessity for the switches. I found that hugely disappointing, although he hasn't seemed to notice. He throws the balls and they get lost or knock things over. We are working on rolling them instead, and of course, he sometimes returns them to the chamber. We gave him half of the balls to maintain some control.

Awesome toy
My son saw this at a birthday party and would not leave me alone about it. He is really into numbers right now and loves this. It is also a great gift!

Cute toy, a few flaws
It’s a cute toy, except i wish it would keep the balls at the top until the child pushed the button to make them go down. Also the bottom door to get the balls out can be very hard to open especially for a kid. But my kids (2 and 1 yr) do play with it regardless.

My students love it!
My preschoolers love this toy, my only complaint is that the balls fall down with a little jiggling so you don't usually have to use the levers or turn knob, which I was hoping they would to encourage fine motor skills. Very fun though! Also wish it had a lid for storage

Tolle Sache :D
