Great at blocking intense sunlight. Keeps baby happy during naptime!

I would say these curtains are medium weight. Not as heavy duty as you would experience at a luxury hotel, but for home, it's perfect! My bedroom faces some intense and direct sunlight in the afternoon and finds it's way through my faux wooden blinds. My baby also sleeps in my master bedroom with me and I can tell it gets bothered by the light during it's afternoon naps (I know because I also nap at the same time). I finally got these curtains and while 2 panels aren't enough for my wide large windows, I instantly saw the difference when it covered half of the window. I immediately ordered a set of 2 more panels to completely cover my window. My baby is happier and sleeps so much better in the afternoon. These curtains also help cool the room too! I fell in love with the simple taupe colored pattern and like that it blended well with my traditional home style while keeping my room light and fresh looking. I recommend these curtains 100%!

Very pretty and heavy curtains

It was time to change the decor of my bedroom from bright prints to more subdued colors. I wanted black out curtains but didn't want anything dark and heavy. My bedroom has a large window and faces south so the sun pours in early. These curtains are a nice weight and I love the soft blue color. The backing is white and they seem to be made of quality materials. My niece hung them up for me, replacing the crazy bright blue and white paisley I had in there. They look nice and hang well. I need to order another set to go on the window because they barely cover it as you can see by the picture. You know the rule--2.5 times the width of the window. I didn't want to waste money on a second pair if I decided not to keep them. I do like the curtains but they don't keep the room dark dark dark. Light does filter in slightly from the sides and the top. So if you want a pitch black room during the day, these aren't for you. But if you want a nice set of curtains that filters out most of the light, these will work. The picture was taken about an hour after sunrise so you could see the amount of light filtering in.

Beautiful and functional.

These curtain panels are beautiful with a very heavy, linen-like feel. The pattern is lovely and subtle. The room darkening level while utilizing these curtains is pretty impressive too. I am currently using them in a bedroom with two south facing windows. It is the bedroom where my 4-month old foster daughter sleeps and these have helped tremendously for her daytime naps.

quality material and elegant looking

It's heavy and thick in a nice color. Double layers with thermal liner. Totally blocked out light. If you need to sleep in a completely dark room, this is it. Without a clock, you won't know it's day or night. It definately makes my room cooler in the recent 90 degree weather since it blocks out the heat and light. It has a smooth glide and a nice quality material touch. Extra bonus, it has a magnetic closures to ensure it stay closed.

Reminiscent of hotel curtains

Thick, durable, and excellent at blocking light, these curtains do exactly what they're supposed to. The magnetic closure is a nice touch, too, since you don't have to worry about the curtains coming open in the middle all the time. If I have a complaint, it's a small one: the design is rather dull, better suited to a Holiday Inn than home decor. That said, I can't fault the quality.

Come Through QUALITY! Need Blackout Curtains - Don't Bypass These!

No complaints whatsoever! With the texture, subtle design, quality of the material, and efficiency as a blackout curtain - I would recommend this in a heartbeat! I loved the curtains I owned, but the way the sunlight started invading my sleep, I knew I needed a change. I wanted two panels that would blend with my existing decor. Although that was my desire, I had zero expectations that when these panels arrived that the color would be an exact match to the curtains, I was replacing. But it was! Initially, I was skeptical about whether or not I would be satisfied with the material of the inner layer because of a prior experience with a different brand. The primary goal is for the curtains to block the sunlight effectively. Still, it's reasonable to expect that when they are washed(especially while following included recommendations), the inner layer won't stick together and deteriorate so severely that your only option is to discard the curtains! Well, I am glad (better yet, RELIEVED) that was a non-factor with these panels. The quality of the material at first glance and touch did not change after the first wash (I always do a quick wash/rinse before first use). I'll admit, I'm pleased with this product, and my expectations were exceeded. The vendor images and details were accurate, and that's also something I appreciated.

These are nice!

I actually bought these for noise reduction and not blackout! The original description mentioned this as a feature, but it appears to have been changed. We have a washer and dryer that sit in the laundry nook in our hallway, but it is an old house and our new machines required us to remove the doors from the room. When they are running, it sounds like it is raining nails and staples from the living room. I decided to give these a shot to dampen some of the noise and also to just cover up the exposed appliances for a nicer look. Well, they work great! They don't completely muffle the noise or anything, but they definitely take the edge off the loud bangs and clattering - which in turn saves my sanity. I'd guess the sound reduction is somewhere around 5 or so db, but I didn't bother measuring. I think they also look quite nice. They have a high quality texture, they're fairly heavy due to the opaque backing and the magnetic closure works perfectly to keep them cinched up in the middle. So blackout and noise dampening in a nice looking curtain? I recommend.
