Getting over a slumped posture

I don't know if this "splint" is supposed to be used for this purpose, but I found it helpful in the short term to get over a slumped posture. I got a pair of heavy overalls and started to wear them daily while working. I had been wearing jeans but found I was wearing them out too quickly. I found, however, that over a period of a few months I was beginning to slump over due to the pressure of the overall's straps over my shoulders. I noticed the same thing with others who were wearing overalls. I went back to jeans, and bought this product and wore it for 2-3 weeks until I got back in the habit of standing up straighter. It went thorugh the wash a few times (in a mesh bag) and it washed up fine. The reviews for other similar products talk about how the straps cut into one's armpits, but this one didn't have that problem. You have to wiggle a bit to get it on, but it is comfortable to wear...at least for something that is keeping you standing and sitting up straight.

The best I've every found for low back pain.

I hate having to wear this, but when I need it I definitely put it on. In hot weather I get hotter then usual, but I'm still able to get up and move around, and without it I'd be flat on my back in bed. It's wider then most, and because I can tighten it to exactly what works each time, it's the best belt for my lower back pain. I need back surgery and really don't want to give in to that yet, so this belt definitely has helped keep me away from surgery. I always have a new one in the wings so I'll never be without one, and I rotate between 2 others. When I have back pain I can't stand up straight and the pain is a level 7-9. This belt brings the pain back down to a 2-3. I still have some pain, but I can continue living without being in bed all the time.

Works well, difficult to put on

This does help a great deal to ease chronic pain in my upper back and improve my posture, but it's the dickens getting it on right. There aren't instructions so you kind of have to just look at the picture and try to match up to it. My husband figured it out the first time so that I could wear it, and I made a point not to completely undo it when I took it off in hopes that it would be easy to put back on and just pull the straps tight. No such luck. It definitely takes a second person to get into this. But once you've got it on it's comfortable and it works.

Works, but sizes are not accurate

Brace helps, but is not as large as the website and box say. Had to order another, two sizes larger. Because Amazon would not take a return on the first, we are trying to return it to Bell-Horn. Do NOT buy this

I wanted this thing to work but the design is just awful. What you can't see in the pictures are the very sharp, long metal teeth that pierce the strap fabric. Now there's another piece of metal that is supose to flip over the ends of the teeth so you don't impale yourself on them, yeah it doesn't stay shut. These things could really do some damage to your back, they are about 1/2 inch long and very sharp. While the rest of it looks nicely padded, as others have mentioned it's not comfortable at all and you need 2 people to try to adjust it. Again as mentioned in other reviews there are no real instructions to speak of. The fact that velcro or some other means of tightning and adjusting the straps wasn't used in the design waves many red flags. I guess that's why they don't show you a picture of spikes. The seller will take it back with a 15% restocking fee and you pay for the return postage of course.

Great support, a little long for my short stature but still a good product

Great support, well made and worth the money. I wish it was a little shorter in the length. I'm 5'5" and it is a little too long waisted for me buy I still use it!

overly stiff elastic, sharp edges, runs small can't be returned don't waste your money

Ordered this for my husband , runs super small, can't be returned, the elastic is so stiff and scratchy it cuts into his sides at the top and bottom edges of the brace. He has had a similar one to this for years and needed to go larger, this one is even smaller than the one he has, in spite of the size chart measurements. Because it can't be returned, I tried to wash and dry it in the machine, it washed well, and dried well on gentle cycle, however, the elastic still has not softened, even after 3 washes! Don't bother, especially if you are not in super taut shape, this will cut into your sides, irritate your skin and empty your wallet.
