33 Months it lasted for us
I did not think this was very easy to clean. The Carafe became quite stained early and was difficult to clean. It served us for 1 to 2 pots per day for 33 mos. Eventually it started leaking water out the bottom of the coffee maker, so you couldn’t fill it up the night before, and toward the end, as soon as you filled it and hit start, it would leak almost a cup of water out the bottom. So I went four stars, it’s a 40 dollar coffee maker that almost made it three years. Thought the ergonomics of the carafe were horrible, uncomfortable for my hands. Almost always dripped a few drops after the pour.

Good machine
Simple automatic drip coffee maker. Just a bit slow on the brew cycle. Maybe I'm just impatient after coming from using my french press.

Coffeehouse-quality coffee
I got one of those for the office--I call it the "Starbucks buster" because I'm trying to quit the drive-through window habit. I chose this model because it is Consumer Reports recommended. Hands down- this makes coffeehouse-quality coffee. So long, Starbucks!

Plastic Smell: Doesn’t change flavor
Having had this for a bit now, I’ll just comment on the other reviews regarding “burnt plastic odor/flavor.” The first bunch of times I used this, there was indeed an odor of “burnt plastic” coming from the coffee maker. However, the coffee itself didn’t have any such odor. I say that as someone with a sensitive sniffer. The smell has gone away after several weeks of use. I’m guessing that someone decided to use a plastic resin for some parts that get warm, but don’t come into contact with the coffee. With a stack of heat cycles, the resin has cured to the point that I no longer smell the odor. No problem. One small complaint… filling the reservoir with water is easy, although the last 1/2 cup (ish) of water requires a little wrist-gymnastics to get the pot in the right position to pour without spilling. Not a big deal. If I were designing this…. Blah blah blah… a little different…. Blah blah blah

Impressed
After having to give up our old school Mr. Coffee because they don't make them anymore, we tried a different Mr. Coffee but we were so disappointed. I did some research and decided on Bella. I'm happy we did because I am so pleased! The coffee tastes wonderful! If there are grounds in the bottom, there are few, and likely do to user error. You should know that this coffee maker will require larger paper filters than you might be used to. Though it's not a cone, the basket area is pretty deep. We tried the Melitta #4 filters because they are tall, and they work perfectly. They don't just slip in, you will need to form it slightly, but they work and keep grounds out of the coffee. The area to pour the water is a bit smaller too and may take some getting used to, but I don't care-the flavor of the coffee is worth it. I am very happy with this purchase!

Didn't Last Long
Our Bella coffee maker broke this morning and we decided to replace it with the same model. Thought this was the one we bought this at Macy's 5 or 6 yrs ago. Was amazed to go on Amazon and see that we just purchased this particular one 2 years ago. Nevertheless, we placed the order anyway as other options when we checked today at Macy's are too expensive and they do not sell Bella any longer. Can't believe this is our 3rd Bella coffee maker then in 6 or 7 years. You get what you pay for.

Good value
For an inexpensive coffee maker, it’s very good. Simple to use. Good value.

Quality coffee, slim and attractive, easy to use and clean
Excellent choice of filter coffee maker - optimizes all of the critical features in terms of quality coffee and physical elements. I have used this coffee maker daily since it arrived early almost 3 weeks ago. It brews just slowly enough that the coffee flavour comes through yet is fast enough. It is quite nice looking with a touch of stainless steel, has a decent sized 12 cup carafe yet at 7 inches wide is a stand-out in that there are few quality coffee makers of this compact size. It has an easy setting for 1-4 cups (paper basket filter recommended for this) delivering consistently good quality at this setting (whether or not you remember how to set the 1-4 cup choice). I chose this coffee maker taking into account all of the recommendations from Consumers Reports even though CR did not rate this the highest based on their own scoring scheme - so I consider this a 'find'. I do not use any of the convenient programming features so cannot speak for this aspect but enjoy a good cup of coffee so would rather not let the ground coffee sit out until the programmed time to start brewing.
