I shouldn’t have ignored the other bad reviews.

Update: ( I added one star because I had more time to sit down and cut veggies with the knives, they’re actually very sharp and don’t take much to get used to the feel of them in my hand. It is nice that they come with heavy duty sheaths.) I wanted the Blackstone brand orange mat so bad I ignored the other reviewers. They were right it just won’t lay flat. It’s got little square cells in it that hold grease and it’s not easy to wash. The knives are not as good as the Blackstone knives my husband ordered. They’re not real sharp and just don’t feel comfortable in my hand. The pepper shaker is useless. And the black storage tube is also useless, I can’t get the lid off of it without using some kind of tool to pry it off every time. Then after you get that off and everything out, good luck getting that orange mat rolled back up to store it inside the tube. Usually Blackstone products exceed my expectations, but this feels like a gimmick. Very disappointed in this set.

good idea on paper. BS didn't get it right though

The salt n pepper shaker is a pop off and not twist lock, so, its useless as it pops off every time you take it out to remove the knives. The knives by themselves are sharp and look great. But, the cutting board will cut with the knives and hard to put everything back in place.

Guess it would be ok for camping

Poor blade metal doesnt hold edge long. Salt and pepper end is hard to get out so you can get at the cutting mat. As a result the shakers open and if you had anything in them it would be all over. Good idea poor design

Sharp knifes

Great set careful taking out salt and pepper shaker as the bottom is only press fit on should be threaded and the silicone mat is nice just don't let your wife cut on it as she will cut almost thru it it is best suited for chopping

Knives were good.

Used the cutting board once. It went right thru . And the salt and pepper shaker were useless. So basically only the knives were of any use.
