Soft and Form Fitting
Let me start by sharing that I have only tried two different styles of Bloch jazz shoes more recently as a middle aged adult returning to dance six years ago. I am a ballet and modern dancer by nature, but I am venturing into other forms of dance too. About 35 years ago I took a jazz class and had awful stiff cheap white jazz shoes as I remember them, with paper thin soles. Jazz shoes have come a long way. My first attempt more recently was the Bloch Super Jazz shoe. I did not like the heel on that shoe and the back of the heel opening dug into my achilles tendon. That shoe was way too long for me as well. I liked the look of the Pulse jazz shoe so I took a chance on it. I ordered a half size up thinking I would need the extra room with my wide metatarsals. But they were too big in the toe area. So I ordered the same size as my street shoe size, a size 7, and viola perfect! This shoe fits so perfectly there is no gaping, no heel sliding off, not extra material in the toe, no wrinkling. It is a tight fit but not uncomfortably tight. The heel stays on very well. My high arches show off very well in these shoes and they fit like a glove! They are soft but strong and supportive, very well made, and it is easy to turn in them. I LOVE the lip around the opening of this shoe as it is thick, rounded, stretchy and not sharp like other jazz shoes. I also love that the mouth does not come up so high on the foot swallowing the arch, but leaves some room there. These shoes hug the foot when you point your foot, showing off the shape of the foot nicely. They do have some stretch and give, though not a ton. Warning that even a half size change can make a huge difference in sizing. So if something is a close fit you are better off staying with that than going a half size up or down. I was worried a 7 would even be too big but it is perfect, even slightly tight but these shoes stretch out and break in with a wear or two. This is my new go to jazz shoe. The look of these is so sleek and minimal. The low profile heel is exactly what I love about these! They are ballet like but with a jazz look. Would definitely recommend!

SIZE RUNS EXTREMELY SMALL!
I haven’t even been able to dance in the shoes yet, and I’m already frustrated. So here’s the deal. I am a size 6.5 in shoes. And that is a fact. I anticipated them running small, so I ordered a 7. Too small. So I sent them back and ordered a 7.5. Too small again. So then I sent them back and ordered an 8.5. STILL TOO SMALL! You would think that ordering two sizes above your usual size wouldn’t end up being small on you. But that’s exactly what is happening. I am ordering a size 9.5, and I sure hope they fit. This will have been my THIRD TIME sending them back for a bigger size! They are probably good quality jazz shoes, but the sizing is unacceptably terrible. RUNS TOO SMALL!

Use caution on how quicky the shoes become slick!
Be very cautious on how slick the shoes may become!!! My daughters shoes were ruined after wearing them less than 5 times. The soles were extremely slick and my daughter wiped out hard landing on her hip... I took them back to my local dance supply store and they agreed they were shot. They recommended getting a ballroom brush if we decided to try another pair of this style
