Did the job!
Fit in my dewalt cordless and drilled the holes I needed quickly. It was aluminum but through two layers.

Understand what you are getting
The bit is not reduced to 1/2” so you can’t use this with a standard drill.

Worthless
I've bought thousands of drill bits over the past 50 years, and this was the most worthless drill bit I've ever had. Drilled a smaller pilot hole (as I always do) in a piece of 1/4" mild steel plate on my drill press (at the recommended drilling speed speed). Used cutting oil (as I always do) and this bit stopped cutting about 1/5 of the way through. Fortunately, I had purchased a second one just in case. That bit did exactly the same thing. Both bits came from one of the large home improvement stores, and were both quite expensive. Could I have just happened to get two defective bits? Possibly. Could it be that the bits sent to these types of stores are of a lesser quality? Possibly. Could it be possible that this manufacturer just doesn't make the same quality drill bits any longer? Also, a possibility. Regardless... the company never responded to my request for help. Since the receipt was lost (my fault) I was unable to return these two bits to the store. I also have a drill bit sharpener (that I have great success with), and tried to sharpen these two worthless bits. Another total waste of time! In summary... I purchased the same size and type bit from another manufacturer, at a much cheaper price, and drilled approximately 9 holes before it became dull. I re-sharpened this bit, and was able to drill the last 3 holes with little effort. I don't like to badmouth products... but I was asked to provide a review. Needless to say, I certainly won't be buying any more Bosch drill bits.
