Got the series 9, love it, here the upgrades

Haven't stumbled across a couple of extra bucks I decided to upgrade my razor and beard trimmer, ended up going with series 9 for both. While I was able to find a solid list of upgrades from the 8 for the shaver, the trimmer upgrades were not easily available but here's what I've figured out... Series 9 trimmer has- The smart chip that apparently adjusts for thickness of your hair (according to customer service when I called in) A wider blade A longer runtime A lock on the hight adjuster Is it Worth the current premium over an 8 hard to say but I'd probably save the money if budget is at all an issue, but since I had it to spare ATM I'm excited for my new upgrade.

Comes with everything!

Bought this device and already I am LOVING it! easy to use, lots of variety of heads for different styling options, and it comes with a nice small traveling bag. the plastic heads are adjustable... just be carful as they are not a thick plastic and are susceptible to breakage. But yea, overall amazing razor!

Convenience

These are extremely well made and work perfectly in every way. After buying a dozen or more cheaper units over the years I am beyond happy with Brawn's quality, craftsmanship and performance built into this unit. Would highly recommend if you want a professional and easy to use groomer. 10 Stars!

This works like a champ. A lot of different settings for different lengths. You can use this to tidy up your beard o matter how long it is.

Another manufacture hiding where it is made

Hours and hours are spent trying to find products in the USA and other countries. I get ill from many of the plastics made in China. This product said from Mexico so I bought it. It states all of the accessories including the attachments are made in China and that is was ASSEMBLED in Mexico and never said where the actual product was made. We all know why! Why do I even bother? There are hardly any products from anywhere but China. First time trying it my husband ruined his beard because there are not any directions to how to use the accessories or the product. There are a few pictures that don't explain anything. So not happy.

Cuts extremely well, watch the charger

First off, a bit of a warning. I have two Braun trimmers. They use identical charging ports. They charge at completely different voltages. In other words, if you are replacing another Braun, or you just have another one, pay attention to which charger you are using. I almost used the old charger before I read the back of both and realized that they are not compatible. When I first tried to use this, it refused to work. I have no idea why it did that. It just wouldn't turn on. I took the head off and reseated it several times. I was about to give up when it randomly started working. It has been fine ever since. No idea what happened there. This does come with tons of heads. It also has a carrying case. Getting everything back in the case in such a way that it will close can be a bit annoying. It does not come with any oil. This goes through hair like it's not there. I have used a lot of trimmers in my time, and none of them cut quite as well as this one does. If you need to shape your hair a certain way, this will work great. It also blasts right through hair if you are just cutting the hair on your head to a certain height. I put it all the way down without an adapter and it cut through my hair without fuss or pinching. My hair was fairly long at the time. I'd say it was...a little over 3" long. This blasted through it as easily as if I had no hair in the way. Cleaning it is a bit of a pain. It is wet/dry, but running it under water isn't enough to clean it. You generally have to get in there and pick out the hair that refuses to come out. The battery lasted long enough to fully cut all the hair on my head. I have no idea how much battery life was left though. 100% battery is green. 1% battery is....green. Everything in-between is...green. Unlike some much cheaper trimmers that I have owned over the years, this gives you no indication of battery level. So, watch the charger, and you'll probably be happy with how this cuts. You might not be so happy when it's time to clean it though.

Worth the extra $$$??!

I went with this model because it had the Lithium ion battery, an indicator light and a few extra attachments. In retrospect I think the 5 in 1 model for a quarter the price would’ve been better for what I actually use it for. It is plastic but then so is my Phillips razor that’s lasted me 20 years (with still the same battery. Yeah, believe it!). If this one can do the same then I’ll be very happy. It was missing one of the side comb sets but then I really can’t see myself using this as a proper hair clipper; so for the trouble it wasn’t worth it for me to return it back to Amazon. The case is nice but way too small to accommodate all the pieces.

Jack of all trades, master of none (but oftentimes better than a master of one)

As the saying goes, this can do everything but nothing exceptionally well. - There are large gaps where the comb attachments connect due to the length adjustment function, where hair enters easily, making it difficult to clean. - Adjustable hair/beard comb: Pretty great for beard trimming, using this for hair is not that great due to the smaller blade size (compared to a hair clipper), it takes more passes and is more time consuming, but it works. -Mini foil: well, it's mini. It won't replace an actual multi-blade foil shaver (like a Braun series 5 shaver for example), but it works. -T blade: can't replace a zero-gap T-blade trimmer. The blade can't be adjusted to zero-gap like a Wahl trimmer. In my case, it's useless since I need it to be as close as possible. It might cut a little closer than the standard blade that comes with the Braun trimmer but that's it. -U-blade: no idea what's that for. -Nose/ear trimmer: haven't tried, looks normal. -Body trimmer: Pulls hair. Maybe it's just me, I have thick straight hair. So useless for me. Conclusion: Returned this, and I am getting a dedicated hair clipper, a dedicated zero-gap trimmer, a dedicated multi-blade foil shaver
