product received was not the same as product described
Picture showed a Champion spark plug-RJI9LMC. The product received was some type of replacement with the name Champion no where to be found. On bag it says made in CN, whatever that means

This is the replacement for the defective plug on a B&S
This Plug replaces the defective plug that came in 2012 b&S push mowers. I had never had a completely bad plug before. I guess this is a resistor plug. The original plug was made in china and burns out the resistor, this causes poor spark. The mower stalls when hot and floods the motor. I replaced both the coil and the plug, But I am pretty sure the original factory plug was the real issue. I believe it comes pre-gapped, just check the specs, this one has a very small gap. Good Luck.

This 591868 aka BS-SV-CU is the correct lawn mower plug for RJ19LM
I swapped out plugs and now my Craftsman mower runs great. It was quitting and not re-starting due to weak spark from worn out plug. This plug sure looks authentic to me. Plug arrived in a sealed "Genuine Briggs & Stratton" plastic bag, like you see at the dealer. Outside label on bag shows "591868". Actual plug is printed with "BS-SV-CU". Since the B&S crisscross site shows they are the same, I am fine. My research shows it is same as "RJ19LM", which my manual says to use. Not "exactly" an "RJ19LMC". the "C" means solid copper ground, while the others are copper plated. My mower was made after 2011, so glad it came pre-gapped at 0.20". Older mowers need 0.30". (Check your manual). Vroom. Teenager son was not happy, lawn is his job now.

Boy, are sparkplugs confusing!
I've spent hours researching, and I don't have an answer, but this seems to be a controversial subject! Manufacturers like Briggs don't help by randomly replacing one P/N with a new one for no apparent reason. Some commenters recommend one plug, others swear by another. Best advice I can offer is to make sure your gap is right; I originally thought that 0.030" was right but other sources say 0.020" so I reset my gaps and I think my DR Trimmer idles a bit smoother. YMMV—check your engine manual, although there's a good chance it's outdated.
