The jobst anti-em/GP stocking applies a gradient compression, greatest at the ankle, and gradually decreasing up the length of the leg without tourniqueting or impeding the venous return. The use of jobst anti-em/GP seamless stockings is an accepted prophylaxis for minimizing the risk of thromboembolism in hospitalized patients requiring bed rest or prolonged periods of Immobilization.
