Unique and professional in form, function, and fit. Gives an amazing point, looks great, and holds up! Durable leather with reinforced stretch mesh and elasticized top line mold this shoe to the foot. Neoprene socklining provides comfort and support while the upgraded eva heel and no-pleat eva forefoot patch provide long life. Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father's footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio's popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes. The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance. Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

Interesting style but will they last?
Got these as a gift for my sister. It was refreshing to see a different style but my sister felt that the mesh arch would not last long enough to justify the $57 price tag.

Listen to the Reviews - Order 2 Sizes Up
I regularly wear anywhere from 10-11 depending on the brand so I took a guess and ordered these in a 12.5 based on other reviews stating to order 2 sizes up. I just used them for a show all weekend and they held up well and felt good.

Not the most comfortable
I read the reviews and heard that most people suggested going up by 1 1/2 - 2 sizes then street shoe. I did the 2 sizes up and it was too big. Maybe 1 1/2 would be better and perhaps it makes a difference the larger you go. As for comfort...I did not find them comfortable. With the split sole, the heel is just rough on my feet. That area is so sore after wearing them. I had hoped I could break them in a bit but after a few weeks I don't know if they will feel better. I usually buy jazz sneakers for more support but I bought these as a quick pair to slip on. Are they the worst shoes in the world?...No, but for those reviews that said "I didn't even know I was wearing them"...I call baloney.

Very uncomfortable
Although I felt I ordered the right size, this shoe was far too wide for my feet, with a good extra inch of material. They did not hug my foot and the elastic was loose. The heel also hit my foot in an awkward location, which was very uncomfortable simply standing and walking in them. I can't imagine how painful it would be to dance in them. Back they go.

love these
I love these shoes. THey fit nicely and look good. I have wide feet and they don't squeeze too tight or hurt my big toenail, like other jazz shoes I've had. I don't wear them often, but I feel like if I did, I would wear holes in them easily as the leather is so soft. Please be aware of this if you are hard on your jazz shoes. If you just need them for auditions or the occasional class/rehearsal, they should be fine.

The sizing is ridiculous.....
I actually love the shoes as jazz shoes but the sizing is ridiculous. I wear a 6.5 or 7 and according to the review, I bought an 8.5...I actually need the 9. I am stretching these out with big socks. They are very flexible and can stretch...but due to this totally misleading sizing...I only gave them 3 stars.

Street size plus 2 sizes!
I wear a size 9. After reading reviews that the shoes ran small, I ordered a size 10, but they were still way too tight. Size 11 fits perfectly--snug like a dance shoe should fit, without cramping my feet.
