A good, inexpensive cane

This my first use of any sort of walking aid as I recently was involved in an automobile accident. I wanted an inexpensive cane to see if it would increase my ability to walk longer distances without increasing pain. It works as I hoped and I am still using it 4 weeks later.

This 1" cane is an excellent 15/16" diameter cane

I previously ordered and received a Carex 7/8" diameter cane which was actually about 13/16". That cane was to replace my old (12 years) 7/8" (actual) cane which was to become a spare cane. However that new cane had more flex than I was comfortable with, so I gave it away. I ordered this Carex 1" cane assuming it would be less than 1" and thus I was pleased that it is actually 15/16" in diameter. This new cane is comfortable to use, very stable and has little flex. It is excellent cane, except for the rubber tip which is a standard 1" inside diameter rubber tip, making it a bit too loose on the 15/16" cane. Sooner or later the tip will come off. A cane without a rubber tip can be dangerous.

Excellent support for such an inexpensive product

I loved how easy it was to adjust this cane to my height. I am 4' 10"ish so I had to saw off a few inches to use this cane, but it's been remarkably helpful to my daily life. My old canes were far too long and kept giving me back aches. This one does not hurt at all. It was so worth the purchase. I'm amazed I could get a wooden cane for such a little price... It's really worth it tho.

Not solid wood.

It’s make of laminated strips of wood. I’ve bent the handle on tractor supplies animal sorting canes easily with a hot water soak. This thing delaminates. The handle is too tight,too small, and uncomfortable. I don’t know how to fix that. Otherwise if you have small hands it might be the one for you. It’s cheap and sturdy.

Not sure if I would use it everyday

I bought this to use a prop but even as a prop I was disappointed. The first had a huge split in the wood from the curved handle all the way down one side. Got a replacement without having to send the first one back which was nice but the replacement is still not perfect. It works for my purpose but, I’m not sure if I would trust it if I was using it everyday.

Cane is heavy

I thought I had ordered a 3/4 inch diameter cane but received one slightly over 1 inch. Well made and finished but heavy.
