What can I say.......these are Carhart!
Like everything else you buy, you get what you pay for. Carhart's are definitely not cheap, but when you buy their products, you can plan on having them for a while. My husband is very hard on gloves and these with a set of lines work so well for him in the winter. Worth every penny!

disappointment with warmth
I haven't used them in snow conditions so I can't attest to the waterproof capabilities. However, I was out in sunny mid-20s temperature for about 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour and they were not as warm as I had expected

Great gloves
For the price these gloves are great. Split and cut a lot of wood and these gloves are great not to cumbersome while using a chainsaw or splitter

Smaller than expected; uncomfortable
I've had several pairs of carhartt gloves, and XL always fit me well. These are too small, and the seam where the cuff meets the leather bothers my wrist, even after a very short time. I feel like it will be a major irritation. The glove ends just behind the thumb, so it feels like it's only half on. The leather needs to be an inch longer. I really don't like these very much. I'm pretty disappointed. The quality of materials is ok, but the design is bad.

Reliable as always
Waterproof and tough. Comfortable too. I buy Carhartt gloves a size down because I use them aggressively and they expand just perfectly to my hand. Also, dry them by the fireside and flake away any dirt. Like a good car, they get better the harder you use them.

Not for working labour, great for casual wear
I highly recommend these, but they aren’t “work gloves” the suede palm is soft and not conducive for any real labour. They are however, perfect as a casual glove, walking the dog, shoveling, snowshoeing, hiking etc. The fleece lining is plush and warm, the fit is perfect and they look really nice. I wore them in -17 weather snowshoeing the other day and they kept my hands toasty, chopped wood a handful of times and they’ve held up fine. There was a break-in period though, I ordered a M(I’m in between M&L for gloves) so they’d be better for dexterity, they weren’t comfortable initially, but after a couple days of wearing them 6hrs, they’re perfect.

ça fonctionne
Un peu gros, mais très solide et confortable, très bon et surtout pour les gros travaux.

Good glove against the cold and wet
Definitely waterproof, although the outer lining does take a while to dry out on its own. It's a bit stiff to start with but after three or four wears it became more supple and manageable.... definitely well worth the extra few dollars

Grip is not that great.
They absorb water and get cold, don't grip well. Wouldn't buy them for working outside.
