Chapin keeps sliding downhill, doesn't fit most chapin wands.
My star rating is in reference to this being a Chapin product. ***This does not fit most Chapin sprayer wands (even the nice brass wands) which use some proprietary thread that is incompatible with anybody else in the market.*** This is 3/8 british pipe thread, which fits only wands that come with a very few Chapin backpack sprayers. (however 3/8bspp is apperently used by a bunch of other brands like solo (maybe Lechler nozzles?)). I didn't know Chapin had two threads, most of my sprayers use 11/16-16 teejet style and as I am in the USA I had no 3/8bsp for comparison. The adaptors for use with 11/16" Teejet threads make the valve far too long for comfort, but they will work in a pinch assuming you have both* an inlet[11/16F-3/8M] and an outlet[3/8F-11/16M], or you just want to convert from one thread to a different nozzle brand.(using just one adapter) (*my 29psi valve came with two outlet, no inlet adapter) I happen to have some CFvalves made with 11/16" TeeJet thread (no adapter extensions) and they work well if you remember the extra nozzle gaskets. Also for general info: these have an upper flow limit of about 2 liters(0.53gallons) per minute and are best below about 1.6L/min(0.42Gal) And you should always use a tip screen/filter on the inlet side 50 mesh is recommended for the valve, use 100mesh if you are using a small tip like a 015 or less.

Junk
Worked great for about 7-10 minutes before it completely closed off never to work again. I took it off, rinsed it out (thinking something may have clogged it)and reinstalled it … nada. Like others have said … just junk. I should have known better. I started to just throw it away but I am going to send it back so someone up the supply chain will have to waste their time too.

Failed after 30 mins of use.
Started off strong! Fitment was good; I needed one additional adopter to fit the Teejet quick change nozzle. Alas, after about 30 min of use it failed. Liquid would only shoot out of the “safety hole” in the top of the cap. Postmortem are destructive, but from what I could tell the rubber membrane had “rolled” over and was blocking the outlet.

control flow valve
I went ahead and give a four star even though I haven't used it . I believe it will improve my spraying pattern. when I use it I will update my review.
