Excellent design and construction
I have heated with firewood for 36 straight years...we're not talking assisting a fossil fuel furnace either...pure firewood in a larger home. Accordingly, I carry in anywhere from 5 1/2 to 7 1/2 full 128 cubic foot cords of wood per season. Over the years, I've gone through three "store bought" log carriers, and one home made carrier. The home made carrier has been the best thus far, although an LL Bean carrier has also been satisfactory. This carrier is sized correctly for 20" wood, and the webbing enforcement should ensure longevity. The shoulder strap for me is entirely useless, but who knows, could be useful for someone. My wife removed the padded part of the shoulder strap was sewed it onto one of the loop carrying handles, enabling me to use this padded area ala "cooking mitt" to soften the load on my hand. I would have given this carrier a solid five stars, if the loop handles were made of more hand friendly webbing with more cotton content and less synthetic (read: hand abrasive) content. Despite my grousing, this carrier still represents an excellent value...better carriers cannot be found for any price.

"Better than 1 log at a time"
we recently moved to a house with a heats-the-whole-house fireplace + woodpile. This fall, my husband carried only what would fit in his arms, and asked for a log carrier for Christmas. He's using it for the first time now. It's sturdy enough for two 7" diameter logs, "it's still heavy but at least I can open the door now" that his hands are free. It seems to be made of heavy cloth with strong seams. My husband used only the top short handholds; not sure the shoulder strap will get used...except to hang it off of the end of the log bin inside!

Decent bag but not a good design
The thing I don't like is if you use the shoulder strap there's only a single strap going around the bag and that makes it very difficult to balance the load and the wood tips and falls out.

Sturdy and easy to use
The wood carrier is a nice thick canvas with good nylon straps. Don't leave in the sun. The straps will rot. granted ours was out in the weather for several months. The canvas held up, not the straps.

Worth the money!
So far it seems to be holding up quite well. Like everyone says, remove the large strap and throw it away. It looks awkward and just a plastic connection. I guess it might be useful when gathering kindling. The material could be slightly thicker and seems fire resistant. A couple of embers have landed on it when loading and nothing happened when removed. Good design. The logs I split are usually 21 inches in length and they don't stick out since the carrier is 24 inches. The picture shows 4 pieces of wood. A couple more that size could fit easily.

Good buy!
I've only had this a couple of days but I like it a lot. It is the largest one I could find out of those available on Amazon, and holds a hefty load of firewood. I like the shoulder strap personally, it seems to work pretty well and saves wear and tear on the hands trying to hold the carrier closed with a full load. The fabric is polyester canvas and seems robust. Now to see if it degrades in the sun like another commonly sold version.

Buy this now!
Don't know why we waited so long to purchase this once our old one was breaking down, but it was the best purchase we made for our home. It is large and can fit a good amount of wood. We carry the wood from our garage into the house. I love that there isn't a trail of wood shavings as you walk through the house. Don't wait...buy now.
