Simple Torch to Operate
I love Coast torches. They are durable all metal design that are simple to use with only four functions that work for me. It's focus function is easy and ha only three modes. Low, Medium and High with the switch at the end of the torch. Yes, I recommend this torch for the ease of operation, simple functions and uses four non recharging AAA batteries so no need for plugs and wires.

Bright and Steady
Very bright and mechanically sturdy. The light does not flicker at all indicating excellent mechanical contacts inside.

0 % Satifaction. By far worst battery life ever. Flashlight is very good quality.
I ordered 2 of these from eBay and should have ordered non of these G55. Before I tested well the first G55 I ordered another one and then I realised the big flaw these have. The battery life lasts for about max 1 Hour continuous shining. Then it dies down. Considered I used Eneloop NiMH 1.2 Volt rechargeable (4 x AAA) batteries but this flashlight just lasted for an average of about 55 Minutes on the lowest setting at 95 lumen before it dimmed considerably. It is an battery hog and uses batteries like crazy. There is none such thing as it would last on low 95 lumens for 17 hours continuous shining. I hope some people will accept this as an free gift still. You dont wanna know how long it would lasted on high setting - maybe a few minutes and would then die. The flashlight itself is very well constructed but since it is completely useless on the countryside, I give it 1 star and 0 % Satisfaction. I stay away from all Coast and other brands flashlights which run on AAA or AA batteries and have high lumen output. Consider this: There is a reason why the MagLite 3 D cell LED flashlight has "only" an LED bulb of 168 lumens and has despite this "low" lumen 3 x D cell batteries. Thats about the best combination of lumen output and run time. 168 lumen on 80 hours runtime. I get on that MagLite about 10 hours runtime on 3 x AA batteries on Eneloop D to AA adapters. Thats good enough and acceptable. The head of that MagLite never warms up neighter. This G55 warm up like crazy on 650 lumens and is noticeably warm on 300 lumens (middle setting) as well and not so much on the 95 lumen lowest setting. The MagLite stays for comparison sake way way cooler with it's 168 lumens as this G55 on the lowest setting at 95 lumens. But this G55 has a way better lens technology and focus system as the MagLite does - this very good lens system have all Coast flashlights built in. Biggest fail: small energy source with 4 small AAA batteries combined with high lumen output of 650 lumens. This Coast G55 should have only about 72 lumens (for 3200 mAh = 4 x AAA Batteries) to get to the same battery life as the MagLite 3 D cell LED 168 lumen does (5700 mAh = w/ Eneloop adapters 3 x AA Batteries). And thats, surprise surprise, about the lumens an 2 x AA Mini MagLite generates. You see these small flashlights have an way to high output on lumens for the small power source (batteries) they have.

Most biggly flashlight ever.
It’s bright. It works. You want one. I did all the research and yes, this is the flash light you want.

Ok for close up
This flashlight works perfectly for what I want it for, I'm a home inspector and it diffuses light beautifully on ceilings, great for looking for stains etc, but I cant use if for losing in an attic space, its not good enough for that. So if you want a light that gives a really nice light close up, its perfect, but if youre looking for something that will light up at a distance, keep shopping.
