PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Utilizing a slightly larger size body, the HP14 Flashlight is able to run off AA batteries and achieve the brightness and power that professionals crave. It combines our Pure Beam Focusing System with Slide Focus with high, medium, and low output modes to illuminate with either a super wide flood beam or spot mode with transition halo at varying distances and brightness all controllable with one hand. It’s anti-roll tailcap allows you to set it on uneven surfaces without rolling off and it even allows you to stand the light up on its cap for vertical lighting situations. With Coast’s commitment to quality, the HP14 Flashlight is impact resistant, weather resistant and its LED is virtually unbreakable. Tested and rated to ANSI/FL1 standards. FROM THE MANUFACTURER The P14 uses Coast LED Lenser’s popular tactical casing in a slightly larger size that allows for the use of the world’s most common battery, the AA. Very tough and bright
This is a great flashlight. The only thing that kept it from getting 5 stars is that the beam is not perfectly circle when you focus it down. If you bend the head, it seems to correct the problem, but does not stay. I do not know if the other flashlights are this way or I just got one with a slight manufacturing error. I have other flashlights from coast and they do not have this problem. Other than that, it is very bright and runs a long time on the batteries. I like the two stage brightness.

I don't agree with another reviewer
This unit IS big and bulky and heavy for an AA sized flashlight. It's the size of a 2-D cell metal flashlight. And it has a useless feature which I cannot understand 'its purpose': You have a high setting (one click); a VERY low setting (a second click); and if you use 2 hands (like one reviewer said), you can press and hold in the rear button to get an extra high setting (which must be held-in to sustain that brightness). And for all that trouble, you get about 10% more 'perceived illumination'. They should have made the 'high-click setting' to be the absolute brightest, and not make you go through a 'manuever' to get a little more brightness. Well, to say something nice about this flashlight, it does seem to be a quality piece. But for it's size and weight, a 2-D battery configuration with a D-cell's longer runtime would have been a better battery choice. And, this isn't a unit for casual carry. It's best 'use' is to keep it next to your door or window in case you live on a large piece of property, and need to illuminate a large area when you hear a strange noise outside. It's certainly not fit for a car's glovebox. As for the push-zoom (instead of a twist zoom head), it might as well be a 'twist-to-zoom' head because the 'fit' is so tight, you need two hands to 'work it'. I have push-zoom heads on other flashlights, and they all slide easily without being too loose. And there's one thing that you have to be careful about...when you turn 'off' the flashlight, the second press is for "Low", but the low is SO low, that you might put away the flashlight (wherever you normally keep it), with the "Low" setting still 'On'. I did that already once...which can especially happen if you've gone from a dark basement to upstairs where there's sunlight, and you won't even notice that the flashlight is on "Low"...unless you look directly at the lens. So, beware.

Very nice flashlight. Super bright and compact enough to fit in your back pocket. Also comes with a belt carry case. Uses 4 AA batteries but I prefer to use the Ni-cad rechargeable. They last a lot longer.

Anyway it is nice.
Feels very strong pruduct. It gives trust. However, it is little long to me. Originally i was about to buy another Coast light, but it's way too expensive. Anyway it is nice.

Bright!! Barrel doesn't lock:/
Barrel is loose, never really locking. Barrel never locking causes beam to cut out often enough to give cheap feel. Very bright!!
