not to warm not to cold
Have tried all Coldproof's products, these are the best fill the bill of a bunch of needs. underlayer, sleep wear, hunting layer under padded insulates. and they are priced more competitively than most Merino wool comparables.

Just like the good old days
Wearing these thermals reminds me of the joy of sitting around a wood stove on the farm, all warm and comfy and toasty. That wasn't much about fashion, but spoke to a more basic human need. It differs from many of the body hugging thermals that have a sheen to them. This is a soft, brushed type of feel and look, and instantly felt warm against my skin. One thing that might detract a bit is that hair and lint readily sticks to them. That shows in the black version. The gray, not much. I ordered a black one and a gray one, both size large, and for reasons unknown, the black one is clearly more roomy than the gray one. I also have the ColdPruf Authentic Wool Plus, same size. That is a heavier, thicker, almost sweatshirt like piece. It's rated warmer, and it might be, but the first feel comparing these Platinum II's, is that the latter feels warm against my skin immediately, while the Authentic Wool Plus, having a cotton inner layer, doesn't. I've ordered at least a dozen different men's thermals over the last few years, and this Platinum II is clearly one of the most functional and comfortable for me. Maybe not the top of the fashion heap, but in my world, living in Minnesota, functionality usually supersedes fashion.

Ok but not great, quality subpar
Ordered one to try out for the winter months. I work night shift for a PD so warmth and comfort are a must. The the warmth is ok, anything dipping below 30 you’ll need a jacket for more than 15 mins outside. As far as quality there’s already a run/hole in the armpit. Didn’t even make it 3 months. I have cheap Russel athletic base layers that have 2 years and going so far without any runs or holes. Disappointed

Long in the arms. Shorter tail
I specifically sought out an xlt size so I could keep all of my layers tucked in while working. This is too short by several inches . Otherwise it's okay. But too thin and too short for the price.

MY NEW FAVORITE LONG SLEEVED SHIRTS!
MY NEW FAVORITE LONG SLEEVED SHIRTS! These have enough wool (about 30%) to be effective, but have enough synthetic materials to be durable, comfortable. These fit very well, and look classy af! I initially bought these to use as undergarments, but was so impressed, I bought more to wear to work at my professional office job!!! They look classy, Steve Jobs-y, are a great material, and are form fitting in an attractive yet professional way. I also use them for scuba diving undergarments, and for hiking. 10/10 would recommend!

Recommend this merino wool polyester blend base layer!
I live in Kansas and with temperatures in teens to 30's right now, this base layer top has kept me warm, granted I have my work shirt and hooded sweatshirt over it, but have worn the sweatshirt as an outler layer and have to say this base layer shirt is awesome! I researched merino wool base layers and for the money this was my only option as others were way more expensive, I highly recommend coldpruf as a reasonable alternative! I hope this helps and thank you for reading! Tyler F.

Good materials, work well....sizes are much larger than I would have expected.
These act as a good base layer and have the qualities and materials you would expect of the better quality products in this category. They keep you warm, they have odor control, and they wick moisture away as they should. I paid less than $20 for these so I can't complain. I see the price has gone up a bit...not sure I would pay upwards of $35 for these. I bought these for my son for snowboarding and he was happy with the performance. His only complaint was the sizing. The large shirt was huge, closer to an XL or XXL. Same for the pants. I have a pair another pair of pants, same size, and these were significantly larger. So, my suggestion, especially if you're looking for a tighter fit, is to size down. Other than that these were a good quality product that I would suggest especially if you can get them for less than $20 each.

Smells bad after training - must wash every time
Delivery was quick, size was correct, and comfort is great. This cloth is warm and comfortable. At first i liked this clothing.... However, I use it for jogging, and of course I swet and wet it while running. The day after it smells really bad. So I have to wash it every time I wear it for training. I do have other similar clothings that are 100% Merino, and they do not smell bad even after 3-4 trainings. Merino percentage is not indicated, but it must be very low.... My advise: If it's not for sport, go ahead and buy. If you are training or working, don't buy and go for the real thing: 100% merinos clothing.

Perfect for my ski vacation
The ColdPruf Performance Base Layer really came through during my last ski vacation. We were in an area that was experiencing and Arctic cold front producing temperatures down to about -28 celcius. The ColdPruf base layer kept me warm and dry by wicking away any moisture that I produced as I skied. The long sleaveCrew neck fir perfectly around my body and was thight around my wrists. This product goes extremely well when matched with the Performance pants. I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking into a great performance base layer. (... and the price was right too).

Very large for the size, not bad otherwise.
Usually wear XXL shirts and sweaters die to my height (6'4) but they are very wide on me. Opted for the XL-Tall expecting it to be a be a bit more form-fitting, bit it's the largest XL I've ever seen (like XXL). Otherwise seems like a decent shirt for the price.

Itchy and Scratchy
Echoing a few other reviewers, I found this garment far too itch-inducing to wear as a baselayer, even after a few washings. Have worn a few makes and models of 100% merino and 100% polyester and polypro baselayers, and this was by far the itchiest. Also was not particularly well-insulating compared to microfleece.
