Soft, Quality

We purchased this Board short cut, the Hike short and the Fork Stream short from Columbia, for camping and summer water activities in a size XS for my slim, 55 lb. 10 YO who wears a size 7/8 pants, and the fit was perfect. We kept these and the hike shorts. (Stream cut was stiff, scratchy, unflattering, too short.) These board shorts are well-made, attractive, flattering, buttery soft, quick-drying, light and comfortable (slightly shorter than the Hike shorts) in the pink, blue striped designs. Daughter loves them. The pockets are great (!) but wish the shorts were only a couple inches longer, more like true board shorts. Would like more choices and better, more versatile pattern/color design options in XS in this short, and daughter was on the fence about the fake, non-adjustable/functional drawstring bow. (It makes it look a bit cheaper, more toddler than pre-teen.) Still, it's a great short for our purposes--fits, functional and comfortable, what matters most. They'll get a lot of use this summer! Lengthen them a little bit and they'll have no competition. Columbia also needs a better size chart.

Great for pool time!

These were great on my daughter. We usually have a hard time finding bottoms for her because she is so slender. These worked great in the pool for her!
