good for rain
The product is very light, thin. but also good for mild cold. great for rain. It does not take up space when you fold it. suitable for mobile life. Besides, the quality of the fabric is also very good.

Super Lightweight + Great Quality, but Feature-Poor
I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a rain jacket or a windbreaker; it seems like maybe both? In either case, I'm a big fan of it so far. Its very light weight (about half the weight of the previous hiking rain jacket I used), which is great. As one might expect from such a lightweight jacket its not going to be appropriate for cold rain unless you have layers underneath it. I tried it out on a rainy mild spring day it did a great job of keeping me dry (I was watching rain drops literally bounce off the water repellent fabric). However, a few nitpicks brought it down a star for me: * No arm vents - my jacket had them and they have been very useful through the years * No drawstring on the hood - the hood is already pre-cinched to a certain degree, but I'd prefer to adjust it * A bit odd fitting - I'm a relatively tall guy (6'4"), however most of that height is in my legs so generally medium jackets fit well except in the arms. This seemed to be no exception; the sleeves were a little short (which I have to live with) but otherwise the fit was fine ... until I started using the hood. It fit fine, but the way it was cinched made it cinch right above my eyes, which was uncomfortable and not where I would've liked it. I'm guessing they did away with the arm vents/drawstring to save on weight (and perhaps costs, though with what they're charging they could certainly have afforded to have them), however I think its worth a few extra grams to include them - especially arm vents. When hiking its easy to work up a sweat in these things! That said, even though my previous jacket is more feature-rich, I will likely make this my primary rain jacket just because of the light weight. A nice benefit is that its also very nice looking - my wife loves it on me. Overall I think I can happily recommend this, however if you're in a particularly muggy climate you should probably look for something with proper ventilation.

Highly packable, light weight rain jacket
Overall this is a nice, simple rain jacket that would be easy to bring with you when rain is in the forecast. It is well made, but the shell material is very thin. This makes the jacket very soft and easily packable, but I’m not sure how well it would hold up to heavy use. Also, there aren’t many features to the jacket. This reduces weight, but I would gladly exchange a few ounces for armpit zips, adjustable velcro cuffs, a hood drawstring, and a collar that you can roll the hood into. For comparison, I am on my second Marmot PreCip rain jacket (which has the features I listed above and more). The first one I had for more than 10 years and the second is about 4 years old. These have held up to regular use which includes wear around town, hiking and backpacking, fishing, and occasional bike rides. I don’t think this Columbia rain jacket will replace my Marmot as my regular go-to jacket for rainy weather, but I would be more likely to take the Columbia rain jacket if space or weight was a concern. Regarding sizing, I am 5’7” 165 lbs and the medium fits great. The sleeve length is perfect for me since my arms have a full range of motion without the torso section being pulled up.

Lightweight Trail Jacket with 3 Zipper Pockets & a Drawstring Waist, but No Hood Drawstring
The Columbia Mystic Trail jacket fit as expected in size M for me. The jacket is light weight, and has a mesh liner, but no vents under the arms. The waist has an elastic draw string for use in windy weather. The two hand pockets are zippered as is the front pocket. Nice fit, finish, with a subtle rectangular pattern on the fabric. The hood has a blue elastic trim, but no draw string, so this is obviously not for use during heavy rains. Overall, if you're in a warm climate (or layer with a fleece), this is a good medium-cost, medium-weight jacket. The addition of arm vents and a draw string on the hood would have brought the rating up to 5 stars for me. I also prefer hoods that can be rolled into the collar, which this one cannot. Overall, good jacket.
