Still Trekking
These boots are a bargain for how long they've lasted me, 4 years and counting, with no issues. I've warn them in the snow when it was 20⁰, during a hike in Colorado when it was in the 80's, as a rain boat when walking and even to ride my motorcycle. Whatever the occasion, they've remained comfortable and still in great condition. Pros: - Have lasted 4 years and counting. - Waterproof (although I do spray them with repellent). - Lightweight. - Comfortable with thin or think socks. Cons: - I honestly haven't experienced any yet.

great hiking boots
Had an old pair of hiking boots and arch was getting weak so ordered these purely on the reputation of the brand. I've worn them for over a month now and they are great! Used them in the Grand Canyon as well as hiking around our neighborhood and I am very happy with these. Nice arch support and well made boots. Not too heavy but sturdy unlike some of the lightweight ones that you can feel every rock you step on. I recommend them to anyone looking for sturdy hiking boots that still are comfortable enough to wear all day.

Impressed
I have been a devout Merrell boot buyer for well over a decade. All that has ended. They first discontinued by favorite boot, replaced it with one one similar, and what used to last me two years now costs more and doesn't last 6 months. Next was a comparable pair of Wolverines, no arch support in them what so ever, and given my high arch, they went back immediately. I was never really familiar with Columbia products up until Xmas a year ago when my sister bought me one of their soft shell jackets. Loved that thing. Well the zipper failed on it this past fall and I contacted columbia. They gave me full price credit on the jacket for their website. FOund them on sale, and replaced the one jacket with two!. Given my boot situation I decided to order these from Columbia and see how their footwear stacks up since they obviously stand behind their product. Just got them today (ordered yesterday, thanks Amazon Prime). Unboxed them and everything looks great. Nice grippy material on the sole, stitching looks good, color is as expected. Not quite as much arch support as I'd hoped for, but at leas there's some. One thing I always appreciated about Merrell is I could take off a two yr old pair of their boots, put a brand new pair on, and hardly be able to tell a difference. They just fit well out of the box. Not saying that is the case with these from Columbia, but I don't think break-in will be a big deal. They are comfortable out of the box. Sizing is good, I ordered a 10.5 and they fit good. Lace hoops and catches are metal, not plastic. And they are pretty light for an ankle top hiking boot. I'll be wearing these daily for work, and while I don't abuse my boots, I am a trade worker so they'll see some beating. I'll wear them when working on the property on weekends cutting and clearing brush, bouncing around on the tractor, just general work. I'll wear them hunting in mild weather, and fishing as well. These boots will get tested for a while and I'll update as things progress. Should they fail we'll test Columbia's dedication to their product again, my last experience with them in that was great. More to come.

Great boot!
Four stars instead of five because the insole is extremely thin as noted by other reviewer‘s. Pulled that out and put in a $10 memory foam insole from Walmart and they are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. Definitely waterproof. Ran a half size larger than the other boots. Usually wear a 9 1/2 and purchased a 10 and they fit perfectly. Columbia, get a better insole and then don’t change a thing.

No foot pain with these
I need extra support because of arch problems. I have had 6 or more pairs of these boots in the last few years. I wear at work and at home and on the farm. If I was going to say anything bad about these. I'd note that the souls tend to wear more quickly I'd like

This was a gift
I bought these shoes for my son he need waterproof shoes for work. He has wide feet and has a hard time finding shoes that fit him. He said the are very comfortable. The one complete is that they are not waterproof on the top where you lace up the shoe. He still likes them. they are good quality.

Mislabled Wide shoes? Poor Quality control? Amazon Warehouse
I've been happy with these boots from February but they won't last forever. Trying to saving some money going the used Amazon Warehouse route for extra backup pairs. But it seems like Amazon Warehouse is recirculating faulty mislabeled returns as "Like New" condition or sending completely different shoe entirely like for example Sketchers Steel work boot. Seriously WTF Amazon? It's really been a real gamble trying to get the same quality shoe I bought in Feb 2023. It's not Amazons fault entirely though. I tried to get Wide boots but these ones were tighter than the ones I purchased in February. The toe area is obviously slimmer and the label is slight different. The shoes on the left are the ones from February and fit perfect, shoes on the right are from May and are too tight in the toe area. Both are labeled as wide. I would rate these boots higher but trying to get repeat quality has been a real PITA. When these boots fit they performed very well for hiking up hills and down steep slopes. They fail in a specularly fashion with muddy areas though as expected. No problem with tall wet grassy areas and dried trails with fox tails (they do latch on the non leather bits). Dry rocky areas are not problem either. These boots are also comfortable and so far held up to extended hiking periods. And they look great. But trying to buy extra pair that fits has almost futile.

Nice boot
These were not my first choice but my first choice was out of stock. But to this point they are working out great. Light weight but holding up awesome. Time we tell the whole story. But they have been great to this point.

Great value, fit and def waterproof
Spent ages looking for a pair of boots. I usually stick with goretex shoes (never good enough for wet winters) as find boots either annoying and heavy or lightweight but leak water (especially material whether goretex or not)but after a few soggy walks this autumn I was determined to spend some decent money on leather waterproof lightweight boots. Spent ages comparing brands and reviews for boots around the £150-200 mark but couldn't quite find a pair that matched what I wanted. Having previously worn and liked Colombia shoes I saw what they had and came across these for an absolute bargain price. Can't go wrong. Lightweight, waterproof so far on a handful of soggy dog walks through long grass and comfortable. Grip also seems good. I was worried they might feel a bit tightbon the width as my shoes were but these are more generous and fit a size 10 perfectly. Highly recommended.

To narrow for me.
Too narrow for my UK size 10 feet. A trial fit immediately demonstrated that they crushed my little toes on both feet. No issues with the return policy.

Worthwhile purchase!!
Good pair of outdoor shoes .. completely waterproof outer layer, however has a pretty lengthy break in period and gets dirty too quickly .. Nonetheless bought it at a discount of more than 30% hence was a worthwhile purchase ..

poor quality and vast price variance
First of all, my previous experience with Columbia boots has been VERY positive. Their winter Bugaboots are my go-to snow boots and they are fantastic. These however, are a prime example of a cheap boot at inflated prices. Extraordinarily inflated in some colours. How can a mediocre boot cost £270+? I bought the cheapest colour, a size 10 men's black at £65. They are exactly the same quality as the highest colours. At first glance, they do indeed look very nice. My girlfriend loved the variety of colours and was shocked to find her favourite was the £270 version. At second glance you notice the sole and heel. Very grippy looking but as you run your fingers over the ridges you discover an extremely soft and weak rubber. I doubt these would last a month for anyone who was a serious hiker. That rubber is going to wear down very, very quickly. Likewise the rather fetching and soft leather uppers. I haven't tried these in the rain, but i suspect they'll lose out in the UK weather. Trying them on, I also discovered that the US size 10 is actually the equivalent of the UK size 11. If you really must buy these and you live in Europe and the UK, buy them in a full size smaller. Even though they were a larger size, i have nearly always appreciated that Columbia accommodate wider feet in some of their boots and shoes. It's a real shame they are lacking in so many places. I half wondered if i'd bought the boots from a reputable source when i started to examine them, but online youtube reviews pretty much confirm the problems i saw. If only Columbia made a version of these to last and used quality construction in addition to their comfort and wide fitting knowledge, these boots would have made my footwear shortlist every time. Especially for casual hiking. I'd have worn them at weddings even. As they stand now, i could not recommend them. Those rubber soles and heels will be worn out in no time. Returning them with regret.
