This jacket is the bomb for cold winter dog walks in the dark.
I’m a lean 140lb @ 5’8” man who is always cold. I walk my dog in the wee hours of the morning year round in North Carolina. When temps drop below 40, this is my go to jacket. I wanted something I did‘t have to layer under to stay warm. In winter, I always have a lightweight base layer and a microfleece top. I throw on this jacket, a hat and mittens and I’ve been warm in temps as low as mid 20s with gusty winds. The hood is primo. It is insulated and not an uncomfortable scratchy shell like so many hoods are today. The coat blocks wind like a champion. The puffy insulation keeps me toasty. The outer pockets are perfect for my hands, dog poop bags and tissues. The Omni tech silver lining seems to keep me warm and is 100% wind blocking. Length comes down just to the bottom of my butt - keeping drafts out. It is a puffer so there’s a little bit of bulk and weight, but much less than any other jacket that offers this warmth. It’s Columbia, so all the nice little features are there too - like the little cloth folder over tab at the top of the zipper near your chin, good zippers, pull cords for the hood and waist. I highly recommend this one. It is a keeper.

Warm
Warm when it is cold outside, but take it off the second you get inside or you will be sweating like a madman.

Chicago Approved
We just hit -6F and this jacket is impressive. It has everything you need to stay warm. Adjustable bottom, cuffs, neck and hood. Columbia really puts a lot of thought into their product. Some folks by other brands because they are trendy and super expensive. Buy this jacket if you want to be warm and pay a reasonable price. Also, BUY SMALL. I'm 6 ft 160 lbs. Small fits PERFECT.

VERY warm and VERY light weight
This is a GREAT coat!! My husband was wearing the most awful jackets and I just couldn't take any more of it. So, I got him this coat. He wasn't so sure about it. We had to have the sleeves shortened, but otherwise, it fit perfectly. He finally decided to wear it to the dog park with one of our dogs. He came home with a big smile on his face and his thumbs up. It was VERY warm, which was good because it was about 10 below that day. He also commented on how really light it is to wear. Not a heavy coat by any means. He's sold on the jacket and LOVES it!! He also realizes that, as spring approaches, he will HAVE to have a coat that's not so warm. Since we live in Iowa, that won't be very soon.

My first puffer-style coat
Wanted to try a puff coat rather than my usual heavy cloth coat. In researching, it seemed this Columbia coat was a good sweet-spot between function and price. I got the amber/black color and it looks very nice. Just a small tad brighter than the ad picture. I am 5'8, 150 lbs and the medium seems a good fit. I am new to the current warmth technology. This insulation / reflective heating is a different feel than a big thick cloth coat. But, with a t-shirt and sweatshirt I am warm in the 30's. I add a fleece zip-up and keep warm in the 20's. The drawstring adjustments for the tail and hood are great features. Includes a nice inside pocket, and the outside pockets are a little warmer than my other coats.

Exceptional Coat/Very Warm
I live in Minnesota and walk my dog every morning and evening in extreme temperatures. (Don't worry, the dog has a coat, my vet explained how to care for her in the cold, she's a cold weather breed.) I've been out in actual temperatures of -20 with windchills in the -30 range. This coat is unbelievable! My previous coat was from WinterGreen and it was the coat that "went to the North Pole." The Columbia out performs that coat in EVERY way AND it's less expensive. If you are looking for a WARM functional coat you won't go wrong with the Pike Lake. I tell everyone about this coat and how much I love it. Exceptional coat, exceptional value.

Excelente Chaqueta
Es una prenda que se ajusta a las expectativas, de acuerdo a lo que dice la marca. Calienta bastante.

Good quality and confortable
The cost is well made and confortable to wear. It is light yet warm. Choose your size carefully. I bought a size larger than what I usually wear, based on reviews. It is a tad big but still OK as I can put an additional layer underneath.

Very warm jacket
I finally tried columbia cause my friends had nothing but good things to say, so far I'm amazed and happy with the jacket, the only thing I was disappointed with is there was no columbia branding in the back like the picture of the jacket, otherwise it keeps you really warm, I live in saskatchewan canada, recently its - 18 Celsius and the jacket keeps you warm, sometimes even hot if you're moving alot, overall decent styling and great value, it's warmer than the more expensive brands out there, the heat reflecting technology inside the jacket really works, I'm sold on columbia products, I'm 5"7 about 178lbs and a medium is decently roomy for me

Great Jacket
I really like this jacket - it is very, very light, but also quite warm. Good in the range -10C to +10C. It is also windproof, so good in late fall/early spring, and on a lot of Canadian winter days (Ottawa climate). Highly recommended for a Toronto/Hamilton style winter, or for shoulder season and warmer winter days in more northerly climes.

Pourquoi Columbia
