Perfect for the weather
Length of the parka is ideal for me as it cuts the unpleasant windchill effect. Thickness and the omniheat that covers upper body keeps it warm and comfy I bought a 2x a little big for me but it is easy to carry

Flimsy buttons on fur
I loved the style and fit of this coat but I returned it because the only thing holding the fur on the hood are these flimsy little plastic buttons. One of the buttons on mine kept coming undone.

Plan on replacing the main zipper before were using the jacket
The primary zipper is indeed a YKK brand and looks and functions nice if the jacket went down to your waist. But it's definitely not designed for a parka that goes down past your waist. I took everyone's advice and replaced the zipper myself with a few helps from YouTube videos. That was complicated long and difficult, but the results were satisfactory. Turns out the lining stretches a little bit and the outside of the coat doesn't which makes it a little difficult for ametrature seamstress hour, but it did work. The local tailor wanted to charge me $65 and I live in the Midwest. I bought the zipper on Amazon for about $12. 4 hours of cussing later and i got it on and streight. The problem is there's not a whole lot of men's big and tall coats with such a high winter rating. The other thing to keep in mind is that unlike coats from l.l. Bean or Lands End there is no internal cuff thing that goes around your wrist in order to keep drafts and snow from coming up your arm. There are only two snaps both of which we found were quite on the big side and so I did open up the cuff and put some elastic in there too. Seems like a lot of good insulative properties and warmth to be had in the body of the coat. Also pleased to report that the fuzzy part of the hood does detach easily with buttons and that the hood self is slightly insulated but it's not as good as the parkas I've seen from l.l. Bean or Lands End. Overall the zipper pulls are leather and seem to be more fashion over function along with most of the rest of the coat but I'm really hoping it does work well as it's the only one I can really find that's halfway good quality and this size. If I Were a 1 or 2x tall I would definitely prefer a coat from l.l. Bean or Lands End. But in 3X tall and bigger there aren't a lot of options...

Degree of happiness depends on how much you paid for this jacket lol
I got a really good deal so I am happy with this fantastic down filled AND waterproof shell jacket from Columbia, which is almost a requirement if you live in a wet area like Seattle. Down jacket without a waterproof shell are certainly doomed in a rainy environment. Your value for this jacket will be highly dependent on how much you paid for it. I found the stitching and quality of the seamstress skills in sewing to be average to mediocre as there were seams where the stitching are rubbish and I had to apply some glue to prevent it from coming apart in the future from stress points. Columbia quality certainly are not worth like what it used to be, I am slowly switching to Pendleton instead.

Great coat
My husband loves this coat! He has very broad shoulders si coats don’t always fit well, but this one fits like a glove. It’s very warm and stylish. Only drawback is that the inside has a metallic silver finish, which he’s not crazy about because he doesn’t like to wear shiny clothes. But since it’s on the inside it’s not bad. I would definitely recommend this coat!

Looked forever on Amazon.. Ordered this coat for a last ditch prayer. HalleluYah.. Fits perfect...will be fabulous for farmwork, hunting, grocery chasing even waiting for children after school without burning tons of fuel..perfect now i will see if they have my sons sizes. Im a 1-2 x with swelling to 3x. Need lots of room to milk and search for baby cows in the freezing sleet from a storm blowing in. Very happy.. The zipper won't pop climbing/slipping up the steep hill slope.

Amazing Jacket, not loving the zipper though
This is my second Columbia jacket, my first being one very similar to this one. I specifically purchased this jacket because I loved the last one so much, but after 5-6 years of wear the zipper broke and I decided it was time for a new jacket, so I went for a newer version of what I was used to. All in all, I am happy with this jacket. The Omni heat technology is a must-have. The outer shell of the jacket is never going to rip, it is very durable. The jacket is very comfortable to wear, and not too bulky at all, plus it has tons of pockets! It will keep you warm in Canadian Winter cold temperatures. I have one complaint about this jacket. My old Columbia parka had a two way zipper(could be unzipped from the bottom while zipped up with a second zipper) which was key for any time you are sitting while wearing you’re jacket, as I often do. This jacket does not have that, and it is noticeably less comfortable than my old one to wear while sitting, because you cannot undo the zipper from the bottom, and it is a parka, meaning for it is designed to come over your legs a bit. It is still not too bad to wear while sitting, just a noticeable downgrade. On that note, I also don’t like the new zipper at all. It does feel a bit cheap, and I have had it come undone from the bottom twice when trying to zip it up, but I think in both cases it was because I failed to do it up properly at the bottom. It is a bit finnicky, and it is easy for the zipper to slip out while you are doing it up. When done up properly, it does not come undone. The most unfortunate thing is that Columbia’s website lists this jacket as having a “two way center front zipper,” but as someone that wishes it did, I can assure you it does not. If it weren’t for the zipper, I would give this jacket 10/5 stars UPDATE: After less than a month, the zipper ripped at the bottom. I have contacted Columbia customer support, who is sending me a 2 way replacement zipper, although they will only cover $45 of the cost of getting the zipper put on the jacket, so I will now have to pay for that. Updated my rating to 1 star due to a horribly cheap and crappy zipper

Excelente calidad

Good fitting warm Columbia classic fit with same zipper problem.
I have used Columbia products as fit for the "classic" fit man, but also reasonable build quality for the price. Not overpriced. However, the one issue that I have with their coats is the tenuous insert of the small zipper into clasp that can sometimes slip out during engaging, cause the zipper of open from bottom up requiring struggles to zip back down and redo. Not great if in cold weather - can button instead. Not enough to return but would be nice if Columbia could create a larger zipper instead.

Not as good as I'd hoped
The zipper is as flimsy as everyone says, although I'm not planning on keeping it so I won't be able to tell you if it breaks on me. My biggest issue is that it's not all that warm. I tested it out by walking around in -2 celsius with a hoodie underneath and found it lacking even at such a mild temperature. The down may be 650 fill power but there's not enough of it in there. The lack of storm cuffs is also a negative. On the plus side, the M fit was pretty good and the arms were decently long enough which is a rare thing for me (6'2, 160lbs). Returning it and continuing my search.

Zipper is one way, YKK, that seems rugged.
Zipper is one way, YKK. Black is more like dark charcoal grey. 650 down. Plenty of pockets. Hood is insulated. With that reflector lining, quite toasty.
