This 25L backpack gives you a variety of storage options, including a padded laptop sleeve and two water bottle pockets. Definitely worthy of the Columbia name.

I am surprised by the polarized reviews for this backpack. I have used this backpack every single day for 6 weeks. Our son is hospitalized for a bone marrow transplant and this is the bag I used to transport items between home and the hospital. It is a simple and lightweight backpack without a lot of frills. I don’t like frills or a lot of dividers in backpacks, so it’s perfect for me. There is one thing I wish every backpack, including this one, had and that’s a larger water bottle holder. The ones on this bag hold a regular 16 oz bottle without a problem, but I really really want one to hold a hydroflask. I digress, but I am holding out on the 5 star rating for one that does. The other thing this bag doesn’t have that I really like is a chest strap. For daily use and a light bag, this isn’t an essential feature, but definitely one I would prefer. Other than that, the fabric is the thickness of a thicker Jansport and in my opinion, good quality. The zippers slide really well and haven’t broken or gotten caught with 6 weeks of daily use. The front pocket is my preferred size. It’s large enough to hold a wallet, phone, keys, and AirPods, but not so big that you can’t find anything. All in all, this bag is definitely worthy of the Columbia brand.

Very basic

This is a very basic and simple design. This backpack has no bells and whistles, it is simply a backpack that has the bare minimum on everything to give you space to carry your things without hidden pockets, organizing, gizmos and doo-dads. You have room for a 15 inch laptop and has adequate protective padding for it. The main compartment is roomy, and a zippered pocket on the front. No side pockets for water bottles, and well padded shoulder straps that are adjustable. That is about the extent of this backpack. So if you are looking for simplicity, this is your backpack. It is well made, rugged and durable for lots of reliable use. I think it is a bit pricey for the lack of pockets, and I give it 4 stars.

Good backpack, even greater friend.

The backpack itself is quite light and is a good size on my back (I am 5’9”). There are only 2 pockets which gives it a very simplistic design, and inside of the big pocket there is a small area for laptops that is felted. As other reviewers have stated, this would make a very good backpack for bike commuting, for general use I would go for a backpack with more space/pockets.

Good basic backpack

I like the simplicity of this Columbia backpack but it doesn’t hold a whole lot. For instance, it doesn’t hold everything older kids need for school nowadays. It would be good for younger kids or adults who don’t need to carry a lot. It’s also pretty light so would be comfortable for a bike ride, walk, or a short hike. Good basic backpack, seems well made.

Wunderschöner Rucksack, perfekte Größe für den Alltag oder zum Wandern. Auch als Uni Bag geeignet, da eine Art gepolstertes Laptochfach drin ist. Kann ich ruhigen Gewissens empfehlen!
