wide frames and heavy

I knew these were probably going to be heavier due to the actual glass lenses, but these frames were TOO WIDE. My husband has a big head and they were too wide for him, none the less for me. I am wonder if they were defects or if they were intentionally made this wide. We had to return because though they were only a little wide for my husband, the arms were certainly too short to sit fully on his ears so they just wouldnt work for either of us.
