Contains no wire filaments for improved safety. Bristle spacing is ideal for coating removal and other high-loading substances. Flexible bristles require less pressure than wire brushes and conform to contours, even on complex parts. Proprietary 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain provides aggressive cutting and consistent finish quality throughout the life of the disc. Molded, abrasive-filled bristles strip, deburr, blend, finish, polish, clean, and remove coatings more effectively, with less pressure than wire brushes.

Nicely aggressive
Putting several of these roughest 50 grit brushes on a cheap plastic hub for use at 7000 RPM on a Foredom tapered spindle mount works remarkably well in a certain sense. Compared to rough grit non-woven abrasive disks which similarly remove lots of the stainless steel I'm finishing, these create less frictional heat and have a flattening effect instead of a rounding one since they are quite durably thick bristles unlike the much thinner jeweler's version also by 3M that only goes down to 80 grit and has bristles fall off when you abuse them. At high does these shoot a fine spray of sparks just like any grinding wheel but with much more control and safety due to their flexing when you happen to push too hard. You certainly want a strong suction shroud around the wheel though, since it can spin the metal dust right around back at you unless you have an acrylic shield too above and a bit in front of it.

Supplier is great though.
They wear down fast. Not for heavy removal. Supplier is great though.
