Great product. Easy install. Works great!

Great product overall. I definitely recommend using a riser after installation, otherwise your hitch is only 6 inches or so off the ground. Be prepared to drill 4 holes through the frame of your truck. Not a big deal, just unexpected. Took a little over an hour to install. Looks great!

Easy to install... some slight modifications required

Very easy to install. I installed by myself in about an hour using jack stands to prop my tahoe up and a quick jack to hold this receiver into place. If you're installing yourself, be sure to have a 17/32 drill bit available (my 2008 Tahoe LT did NOT have pre-drilled holes), you'll also have to cut about an inch into your air dam (I did)... go onto YouTube and watch installation videos prior to installing... they help! Also be sure to make sure you have the right hitch receiver, Amazon accidentally sent me the wrong class (1 1/4" opening) the first time and I had to do an exchange. I would give the rating 5 stars, but the picture is deceiving.. I wanted chain hooks like shown so i could hang my plow wiring off of that... but I'll figure it out. Good and easy product to install otherwise!

Almost what I was looking for

This mount was almost what I was looking for. Very easy to install and all the installation materials needed were included. Only wish that this mount on my Chevy Silverado 1500 would be a little higher off the ground in clearance. It fits over "most" curbs but not all and it scrapes a little however I am happy that I didn't have to do any cutting to the front fascia of the grill to install it. Over all mostly happy with this purchase.

Fits a 2008 Avalanche Z71 like a glove.

I was told by an another upstanding website that this hitch would not fit my 2008 Avalanche Z71 without some type of modification. I checked out all the measurements given on the Amazon web site by the hitch manufacturer and the hitch seemed to be an exact fit - turns out that it was. All the hardware supplied by the manufacturer fit like a dream. Easy to hard, hard being drilling the holes in the frame, the rest is a piece of cake. I used a transmission jack to hold the hitch in place while bolting to the frame.

Hangs too low.

Very heavy duty and nicely built. Relatively easy install. My only issue with it is that it hangs too low by a minimum of 2". I have an aftermarket bumper and this thing hangs about 6-8" lower than my bumper which looks pretty ridiculous. It will decrease your overall ground clearance by about 2" and really messes up approach angle. I have a 2" leveling kit, so I guess I can live with it for the added utility. If you don't have a leveling kit on your silverado, I would definitely think about adding one of you install the front hitch. I looked at all the front hitches available for the silverado and all of them hang too low. Would gladly pay more if somebody offered one that is 2-4" higher than this one.

Functional, well built but it sits very low

The hitch takes away a lot of ground clearance, almost 3 inches on my Avalanche. It has scrapped on 4 occasions on driveways and when going over speed bumps in the 3 weeks since it was installed. It also prevents me from pulling forward on most curbs. It is very functional, but expect to install a leveling kit as well to get the ground clearance back.
