A Compact Head Light with Lots of Features
This compact bike light has lots of features but is not that intuitive to operate at first. The online user guide provides very little useful information and the box has instructions written on several sides and flaps. The box points out that there are different modes for daytime and night time use but provides no photos or diagrams of the different modes. I basically sat in the house and pointed the light into another room and played around with it long enough to guess at which mode might be best for my use. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: -Compact design (looks more like a bike light than a flashlight) -Bright (if you're used to cheap bike lights you won't believe how bright this one is) Cygolite also makes one about 5 times as powerful too! -Versatile (the Quad lamps at the top can work independently from the main light as daytime running lights) You can run the main light alone on low, medium or high and it has a nice spread. There are also several combination settings. I live in a city so I tend to use the lower setting of the Quad lamps on steady and the main light flashing so car drivers can see me. -350 Lumens (light is measured in any number of different ways but this puts out enough light for my purposes) -Side Lights (the two notches you see on each side allow some side lighting. In my case I would prefer more of this feature. -Power Button (this button actually has a number of nice features: on/off, recalls last setting which is great!, low battery indicator, and will even tell you when you're operating at full power for some reason. -Quick Mount (just place the light on your handlebars and pull the silicon/rubber connector up onto the hook) -Mini USB Charger (has a silicon/rubber cover in hopes of keeping out the elements) Charges in 3 hours and power button blinks until charged. -Lightweight -Swivels (this is a nice feature for me since my handlebars are angled, so I can square up the light to straight ahead) -Li-ion Rechargeable Battery (no memory effect like a Ni-Cad) -Water-Resistant (I have yet to be out in the rain with it so I cannot comment) -Factory Reset Button (I think this resets it back to factory default settings) Cons: -Mounting Strap Only (No way for permanent mount and no accessory offering on company's website) This is a big con for me living in the city. I have to take the light off every time I stop somewhere as it might be stolen. Even the other lights offered with permanent mounts have a finger twist off release, which is little better. Cygolite must think everyone lives in the burbs. -Flimsy Handlebar Cushion (the light has to rest on something and this piece of silicon/rubber is very thin and flimsy and also slippery, so the light needs to be re-tilted after hitting bumps, etc.) This was not well thought out by the company. -Swivel has no real centering notch (the light can be knocked off center fairly easily) -Price ( >$50 seems a little high but the jury is still out on this as it does have a lot of features) -Battery Time (run time on high is only an hour and a half I think) Cygolite has a number of nice lights ranging all the way up to 1700 lumens and I even bought their Hotshot 2W tail light as well. Both of these lights are a major upgrade to my old set of blinky safety lights. I did quite a bit of research before purchase and ended up with these. And lastly, I am just a regular daily bike rider and in no way associated with Cygolite. Since there are only a few reviews here on Amazon I hope this helps. 12/04/15 - Update with some random notes: -On steady high mode it has a beam better than any of my flashlights. -At night in the city with the Dash set to Daylight flashing I can see signs 6 blocks away and people have told me to turn if off because it was so bright. However, according to the Cygolite website it will only burn for 75 minutes at this intensity. -Quite frankly, with just trying to be seen and not for lighting up the road, I think the 4 flashing LED's alone do a decent job. Cygolite suggests a 55 hour battery run-time with this setting. For more implied safety I use the night SteadyPulse mode (actually a triple pulse, not steady) which astonishingly drops the battery run-time down to only 3 hours. So it's fairly clear that the CREE main bulb is using most of the energy. -I also bought the Cygolite's Hotshot rear tail light and I find it odd that the Dash uses a min-USB charging port and the Hotshot uses a regular USB port. For me personally I like the regular USB port because it's easier to see the port and it feels more secure. And even thought both cables are provided it's odd that I need two cables to charge two lights from the same company. -Without knowing, I feel like the rubber/silicon stretch cable is not going to last all that long. They already offer it as a replacement part on their accessories page for a reasonable price. I would still like a bolt-on mount where I can remove just the light like the Hotshot. -The bottom line is that I'm keeping both units due to all the good reviews and my use of the products.

Just buy it - Daylightning is awesome
I never leave home without it. A few years ago, a car coming towards me turning directly into me causing me to go to the hospital. She stated she didn't see me. Whether she was distracted or not, I never leave on my road bike without a cygolite dash. I lost one, imediately bought a replacement. I currently own 3 different "dash" models and take them on each ride, loaning my other 2 to other riders. Daylightning is a setting where the top 4 LED's + the main bottom LED all flash at the same time. When other riders at events ask you which light you have, you know its getting the job done. I light may not save my life, but no one will ever be able to say they didn't see me from the front. That in conjunction with the Garmin Varia Radar tailight, I feel alittle safer sharing the road with other cars and truck. They also have a good throw if you get caught out at dusk, I rarely do, but its nice to push the button and have a good headlight - see pic for throw. This is not my only cygolite product, I have owned various more traditional style headlights before finding the dash line and they work great. I have one thats at least a couple years old and still works great. Battery life it very good, I would estimate at least 10 hours of flash setting - which is usually 2 rides = 100 miles or so before charging. micro usb - would be nice if it eventually went to USB-c, but all my other lights are micro usb also so no issue. Other than the output, the small form factor I think it was whats pefect. The rubber strap is permanently attached, and easy to mount to any bar in seconds. As I stated in headline, just buy one - you wont regret it.

Very happy
As a 'be seen' light this thing is not screwing around. It is BRIGHT and highly visible. The pulsating flashes are a 3 pulse pattern, not a steady pulse. So it's going to get noticed and stay noticed by drivers who you want seeing you. Don't bother going to the Dash 600. There is no need for it for 'being seen' purposes in daytime. Any brighter than the 460 and you're bound to blind someone. If you need a true headlight for night riding, the Dash 600 might have a purpose for you. As a head light for lighting the way at night, it's okay. It will let you see the road in front of you. But it's not like having high beams on in your car. There are bike lights that make reasonable replacements for the Sun. This isn't quite one of those. If you do a lot of riding in the dark you might want another light. If you ride at dusk or dawn or for short rides in the dark, this will be fine. But it's not the light for lighting your way on a 20 mile journey in total darkness. You WILL be seen be drivers though both day and night. So for 99% of bikers this is perfect. My needs for a light are to be seen more than to see. So I couldn't be happier with this. It's small. It does not take up a lot of real estate on your handle bars. The rubber strap is okay. But it's not the same as a hard mount. However, the rubber strap is easily removed with a single screw on the bottom. If you're handy you could fashion a hard mount to attach the light to. I'd suggest a reflector mount. I opted to use the rubber strap but added a zip tie around it. It's still loose enough that I can change the angle but tight enough that it doesn't happen on it's own. With the zip tie on it the light also isn't going to walk away in someone's hands quickly if you step away from your bike for a minute. It can also be rotated on the mount left and right about 20 degrees (That's a total guess as I don't have a protractor handy. But it's enough to compensate for an angled handlebar) Just loosen the screw on the bottom that holds the strap on and you can change the angle the light sits at in relation to the strap. All in all I found this to be a very strong light that gives you plenty of options to customize how it's mounted. Update after a couple more days using this light....one of the biggest advantages to the brightness is that I NEVER forget to turn the light off when I get home. I overlook my taillight all the time and leave it blinking all night find it dead in the morning. I will never have that problem with this headlight. I might forget I have it on while I'm riding in broad daylight (Since I'm behind the light), but as soon as I pull the bike into my house the room lights up like a lightning storm is going on in my living room.

Fantastic for winter training
Perfect solution for road cycling, the product is obviously well built and has various lighting options for night and day riding - not too heavy either. Charging is very easy with the USB port and the battery life is good - highly recommended!

Fantastic light
I just bought this light after reading some very positive comments about this brand. I've been using if just for a few days but I must say that I'm very happy with it. I used it today to go for a morning ride at 6 AM in a dark trail and it was perfect, I could see everything in front of me when using the medium and high modes. It's especially important for me to have good visibility at night because there are a lot of rabbits and squirrels that like to get in the way suddenly and so far this light has been helping me to avoid them. For city commute, I use this Cytolite Dash 350 combined with a taillight hotrod 50 and I must say that I feel like I'm very visible to the drivers and they are able to see me from far away. I see a lot of people on the bike lanes and using the road with crappy lights and the difference between a $20 light and this Cygolite is just massive. I value my safety a lot and trust me, if you want to be as safe as possible at night, get this (or any other light that's reputable) instead of buying a crappy light.

Good powerful light
It really lights up the bike path during on nightly commute from the office and unlike most other bike lights it isnt too bulky and doesnt take up too much space on the handlebars.
