Excellent - Does Exactly What it's Supposed to do

I live in central Florida, and WE KNOW MOISTURE! These work great. I've had mine in the bathrooms for 3 weeks now and looks like I might squeeze another week out. These are very simple to use; just follow the directions. No, there is not a fan; it is a vent (no need to distribute the moisture!). No, the flap does not snap in place, by design. Leave it alone. Yes, the tablet is gross if you touch it once it starts melting; don't touch it. Wait till it's all gone, then flush the water. No, it's not decorative; I stick mine behind the toilet. All that said, it's a pretty good product, and fairly cheap to operate. If my tabs last 30 days, then I'm spending about $11/mo on 3 of these. As you can see, it pulls a fair amount of moisture from the air; this was only 3 weeks' worth. My water is cloudy and not as "pretty" as the blue one in the promo video, lol. I'm very happy with this product and do highly recommend, esp if you live in humid weather. My only complaint is: where is the lavender vanilla scent for the tablets?!? I only see it in the powder :(

Great for small spaces like closets and half bathrooms.

I recently purchased this on Amazon since our local target can no longer seem to stock them. I have 4 currently, one in my office closet, one in our guest bathroom, one in the master bathroom and another in my wife's office closet. I think these work great in the smaller spaces. Our master bathroom on the other hand is a little too large. The tablets work as long you know to do the following things periodically. 1. You must check on them about every 30 days or so to see how much of the tablet is left (effectiveness diminishes the smaller the tablet gets). I noticed that in the closets the tablets will usually last about 60-90days without having to add a new one, in the master bathroom usually 30 days is about all I get out of it. 2. When it comes time to empty it you need to be careful not to get the tablet water on you. DO NOT POUR THIS DOWN THE SINK, instead pour it down the toilet. 3. Before adding a new tablet you will notice a lot of junk left over from the previous tablet so what I do is reattach everything and run hot sink water at the top "Slowly" to rinse the rest of the tablet out of the apparatus and into the water catcher at the bottom. I then detach the bottom portion, pour into the toilet and repeat as necessary until the leftover remnants of the previous tab is gone. This will keep the devices from clogging up and spilling out of the device instead of working properly. 4. After doing this quick maintenance (takes about 5-10min for each) then you can add a new tablet and wipe down the outside with a paper towel. Many problems reported on here are sue to lack of maintenance or to be fair a broke device they received, but following the steps outlined above can help make this product work the way it should. The only reason for the 4 stars is finding replacements for the tabs. Usually our local Target carries them but not often however Amazon now carries these as well for a pretty reasonable price so may start ordering from them. DampRID also sells hanging dehumidifier s similar to this one however I would stay away from those simply because the more water it collects the more wait it carries and eventually pops like a water balloon all over your clothes. Trust me in saying this is a much better option for DampRID.

Arrived broken, but works anyway

The lid is made of a brittle plastic, and it was broken on arrival. Due to the break, it looks ugly, but I didn't buy this for its looks. The lower part of the container is intact, so it's not leaking any water. It's dehumidifying my closet nicely, and that's what matter most.

I was skeptical but bought it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised! I purchased it for my She Shed & wow does it collect the water. I now have one in my storage shed & RV. It’s easy to maintain, clean, and there are NO “stinky smells” that others have commented on. ????‍♀️ Purchase with confidence. I’ve been using mine for one year - no problems.

There are two "bottoms" and two tabs, so get the 2nd tab out before using

My first use of this, the instructions were a bit vague. It says "remove top from bottom" so I did, and only found one tab, so proceeded to use it, not knowing there is ANOTHER bottom which contains the 2nd extra tab. So don't make the mistake I made and leave the 2nd tab at the very bottom! It worked anyway, but of course the bottom appeared to be full until I looked and saw that the other tab was there. Used properly, I think it's a good product.

It Works…

First let me say it works…but it is slow. I opened it about a week ago and set it downstairs in the unfinished basement where a leaking pipe had left water on the concrete floor. Since I am not down there often I didn’t know it had been leaking until there was a two foot by about ten foot area wet on the floor which had caused the damp smell that started to come up the stairs. I no longer smell the dampness in the stairwell and about a quarter inch of water has collected in the bottom reservoir. Unless I am doing something wrong…I had expected that it would work faster…but I imagine that once the leak is fixed and the floor dries it will keep the damp smell from my concrete basement free from odour. I would purchase it again.

Good !

I was first disapointed because I thought it was a little fan. BUT it has definately worked to help remove moisture, yes it has a bit of an odd smell, i've read the reviews that it reminds some people of a urinal cake.... I got the lavender scented ones and I thought they smelt good ! They aren't over powering like some people have said they have been in all my closets with my clothes and they do not transmit the smell on. I also bought the damp rid buckets with the beads.... those do not work as well, I found way more humidity from these!
