PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Repair your leaky toilet with the Danco spud gasket for Gerber toilets. The spud gasket fits inside the toilet on the base where the tank drains into the toilet bowl, forming a seal to hold the water in the tank. Replacing a worn out gasket will keep the toilet tank solidly attached and prevent leaks between the tank and the bowl. FROM THE MANUFACTURER Danco is one of the largest plumbing repair, replacement and remodel suppliers in the home improvement industry. Don't buy it. Unless you use it for a different application.
I has no cut out to fit over the large nut so if you force it on the nut on the bottom of the tank when you flush the toilet water sprays all over the place. Buy one thick enough to fit your tank but make sure it is pre-shaped to fit over the big nut.

Essential part for Gerber toilet fix
One of my toilets ran constantly so I went to a “big box” store and bought the rebuild kit to replace the insides. The kit is fine but when you mount the tank on the base it leaks. The kit is designed for Kohler and we have a Gerber toilet. The “big box” guys were clueless. This part solves the problem. Save yourself frustration! If you tackle this job be sure you have this part to get it done quickly and correctly!!

Wont Work with Gerber 28-790
Used a Korky Universal kit and their Spud Gasket is not tall enough. This gasket wont fit over the flush valve nut leaving it barely on the flush valve pipe. Placing the tank back on the toilet leaves the tank very high even if I were to tighten, I doubt it would work.

A must for Gerber toilet repair.
I tried some other gaskets which were “thick” one. But only this gasket properly sealed the connection between the tank and the bowl on my Berber toilet.

Didn’t fit my Gerber toilet.
Unfortunately, the product picture on Amazon only shows the bottom side - which is pretty much the same on all spud gaskets. I bought it based on the description for Gerber toilets. A picture of the top side of the gasket would have been more helpful because some are flat and others are recessed. I needed a recessed one and this one is flat. (The recess accommodates the big nut that holds the flush valve in place.) By the time I took my toilet apart, the return window had expired, so I was unable to return. My advice to Amazon is to show *both* sides of the gasket.

If you have a Gerber, this is the bowl to toilet seal you need
Do not bother to install the so-called universal rubber seals. I tried three and all of them leaked. This is the one you need.

Is it Really for a Gerber Toilet?
I tried this on my Gerber toilet and it just didn't work. My toilets were made in the late 90's so I don't know if that has something to do with it. I found a competitive product on Amazon that lists its size as 1/8" bigger (3 1/4" vs 3 1/8") that did work. The product that worked also was made of a softer durometer rubber. I go with what doesn't leak!
