Perfect fit!

We just moved into a house that was built in 1958. The hot water had a really bad leak. We were quoted $480.00 by a plumbing company to fix it because the original cartridge was so old and he told us a new one would be hard to find. My husband went on Amazon and found the piece which only cost $8. We received it in just a few days. It only took less than 1/2 an hour of my husband's time to fix it. Problem solved. It's a perfect fit! The only change we made was the O ring that came with the cartridge was too big, fortunately we just replaced it with a slightly smaller one. For the amount of money we saved it still deserves a 5 star rating!

Inconsistent in stopping dripping and requiring excessive tightening

I have used this name brand product, Danco, several times in the past. I purchased it from big box stores. They all worked very well at shutting down leaky faucets without excessive tightening required. The big box stores (BBS) no longer carry this old time plumbing fixer so I had to buy it here online. It looks the same as the original fixture, but does not perform as well as the ones purchased from the BBS in the past. It requires way too much handle tightening to shut down the dripping, and it does not always work to stop it. The BBS ones stopped the drips with only very light tightening. Since the old one it replaced leaked like Niagara Falls and because of the hassle of returns is a pain, I left it in. But I will be looking elsewhere for a better replacement. BTW first bad review of a product purchased here. Not a Karen.

Easy to install and work well; these were replacements for dial-eze stems that were at least 30-40 years old.

The install was fast and easy with no required modifications

The valve seat is softer than the original. As a result, it is more difficult to find the proper setting to regulate the water flow to achieve the desired temperature in the shower. The install was fast and easy with no required modifications. I would recommend this to friends and family.

Good product but get the right one (hot or cold)

Different types of Crane faucets with handles pointing in the same direction (forwards or upwards) may use this cartridge, but the hot and cold sides are the same being "Hot Water Stem". In that case you wouldn't need a "Cold Water Stem". The main sealing washers are softer than some others which means less force is needed to seal. Longevity of the seals is unknown but the product appears to be well made with good materials.

Poor quality

Stem is loose in the cartridge, it chatters when closing. Have to turn it farther than a Crane cartridge to get water to flow. Wouldn't buy again.
