Still working after 8 years
The media could not be loaded. Danner Manufacturing, Inc., ProLine 4800 GPH Hy-Drive In my video I say Damere several times instead of Danner. Same pump however and it's been running strong for 8 years. The 2 exceptions it failed were due to blockages from my negligence. I have a duplicate pump as a backup waiting to replace this one when it finally fails.

Decent Pump, Price is Good, Volume Questionable
I replaced my failed 3000gpm with a Danner 3000gpm. The new Danner 3000 didn't pump nearly as much as my old pump, so I returned it to Amazon and purchased this one instead. Here are my thoughts: Pros: - Price: The price for this unit is very reasonable compared to the other options on Amazon - This pump definitely moves more water than the Danner 3000 - The parts that came with it allowed me to hook it up effortlessly. It had a threaded connector for 1 1/2" PVC slip, and 2 sizes of male flex pipe connectors (I believe 1 1/2" and 1"). I used the PVC slip connector as my piping is all hard-pipe. - Very long power cable. I don't need this much so it's a waste for me, but someone needing plenty of cord length, this would be a valuable asset Cons: - It definitely has a vibration to it, even when submerged (my old pump, when submerged, you couldn't tell whether it was on or off) you can definitely tell that it's running. Don't know if this is really a bad thing, I just don't want to have to hear it along with the waterfall - It's quite large. I had to completely rearrange the layout in my skimmer to get this to fit. Ended up having to lay it down and discharge vertically in the skimmer - The biggest flaw is the 1 1/2" discharge port. My OEM piping is 2" and I would like to be able to not have the restriction. Conclusion: I don't believe I'm getting anywhere near 4800GPH, but don't know for sure. The only way I have to gauge this is in comparing it to the "perceived" flow in my waterfall. It appears to be about the same flow volume as my old 3000GPH pump. This is by no way a quantitative diagnosis, just qualitative. Time will tell with respect to it's longevity. I will update this review with any issues to note in the future. I am happy with the purchase and would buy it again. Pool pump
It took me awhile, but I finally got it all hooked up. I'm using it as a second pump in my above ground pool. The intake is hooked up to a skimmer in the pool and the outlet goes into a tank, then up to a solar heater of the roof, then down back into the pool. I probably could have used a bigger pump, but this one does work great. I put in an extra filter between the skimmer and the pump that I had from a previous pool. The good thing about this pump is that it will cut off automatically if there's a water supply problem. Every evening, usually, I turn the pump off. In the morning I change out the filter and turn it back on and let it run all day. If the filter gets too dirty and after about 24 hours of running, the pump will quit. I just turn it off for a couple of hours and then it's back on. I'm very pleased with the quality of this pump.

Third pump in...
On the 3rd pump now; the first 2 we purchased (from 2 different vendors) went out; the propeller jammed and would not move at all. No idea why. After the 2nd one, we removed the extension cord (which was about 3 feet long) and managed to string it all the way to our outlet so there was no extra distance between the pump and the outlet. It's been several weeks now and the pump is still working, so I guess that may have been an issue. When it is working, it works well, and is VERY powerful.

Great energy-efficient pump
I've purchased 3 of these Danner Hy-Drive pumps. They offer a good balance of flow and energy efficiency. Check out the power consumption of a high flow pond pump before you buy. Some similar volume pumps can consume 3 times more power. Yearly maintenance includes winter removal, and cleaning of the magnetic drive spindle. Overall, a great pump, and purchased on Amazon at a good price.

Great pump! Don't hesitate if you need a pond pump.
This is our 2nd 48000GPH pump. The 1st was over four years old. I was out of town and leaves clogged the pond skimmer causing the pump to run dry for an extended length of time. The old one still pumped great, but it would trip the thermal switch a couple of times a day. It would still be going if not for my lack of attention.

Served well for five years.
Bought this for pond in July 2010. It ran continuously (except when I pulled it for winter). It died today, June 2015. It appears that the bearings seized in the motor; the rotor does not turn even with hard hand pressure. I am ordering another one. It has been a good dependable pump.

Purchased two at the same time. One worked one didn't.
The end of July this year I purchased two Danner 02670 HY Drive 4800GPH Pumps. One pump worked as soon as I plugged it in but I couldn't get the other one to come on so I called and spoke with a woman in customer service at the manufacturer, She was pretty insistent that it was "user error" and suggested I check to be sure I am using it correctly. She said if I couldn't get it to work that I could email the engineering department and explain to them what the problem is. The problem was that it didn't turn on! Unfortunately, I never got it to work and then left on vacation. Now it is 45 days later and too late to return this defective item. Frustrating that I spent so much money and have nothing to show for it. The service from the company gets a ZERO from me.
