Love this birdbath!

After one month, a thin layer of the stone-like material is coming off.

I put this birdbath outside for the last month and have been changing the water every day or every other day for the birds and animals in my yard. I noticed pieces were floating in the water from day one but didn’t think too much about it, thinking it could be debris from the yard. But today I went to change the water and saw pieces floating in the water that were actually the stone-like material which seems to be a veneer, as underneath, it is showing pure white. So not only is the birdbath coming apart all by itself, but I am also concerned that animals could actually swallow these pieces. It’s a shame, because the birdbath itself is darling. I would’ve been happy to pay more just to have it made from concrete.
