Lubability of This Hinge is Suspect - UPDATED
Update - 2016-08-12: I've updated my rating from 3 star, to 5. After some break-in time (and of course tons of lube spray up-front), this hinge has performed flawlessly. It makes no noise at all, and the cats have little trouble opening the door. Just so I don't have to mess with it, I use a small kettle bell in front of the door when I want to hold it open. Original Review: I purchased one of these hinges and received it a couple days ago. Installation was quick and easy. No problems there. It was very easy to adjust - I used the very first tension setting. Also, the instructions were fairly clear, and the tools provided worked fine (I used my own electric screwdriver, however). My use case is similar to a couple others I've seen in the reviews. I have a hollow bedroom door that I do not want to close all the way. I need the cats to be able to open it from both sides. Otherwise... They will dig up the carpet and/or meow incessantly (I'm sure other cat owners can sympathize). With this hinge installed, pushing the door open from the outside is generally pretty easy for the cats - they just throw their weight at it. Opening from the inside, however, is more difficult; but they can do it. They just paw at it over and over until they can squeeze through. This is where my problem comes in. They hinge generally works very well, EXCEPT... On the weakest setting (as I have it - I have not tested other settings), it makes a horrible squeeky/creeky noise when opened slowly in the 6-inch-from-closed region. Combine that with the cats' difficulty getting it open from the inside (not the hinge's fault), and I am awakened in the night by that creeky sound. I have applied 3n1 oil, and even PB Blaster (spray). I've sprayed every hole and crack (in the hinge) excessively, with no noticeable reduction in the sound. Now, to be clear, the hinge makes virtually no noise at all when opened significantly and allowed to close the door. It's only when opened in the 1-6 inch region that I hear this sound. I can replicate the sound easily myself, by the way. Overall it seems to be a good product, except for the fact that I am completely unable to lube it and make that sound stop. It seems to me like a product like this would have to be "lubable" for it to provide a long term solution. Or perhaps it's completely sealed, in which case I'm left to wonder why they didn't apply enough lube to begin with.

Keeps the door closed!
Got this to eliminate the constant thoughts of this interior door downstairs that people just tend to leave open to the general public upon entering the building. This eliminated the door being open and keeps my peace of mind that I know it’s shut haha. I chose this rather than a bulky arm mechanism for the top of the door because 1 it’s cheaper and 2 coming downstairs everyone woold hit their head on it at least once, then after that it would be a mental reminder... so option 1 was a go. Mounted right up with the existing holes and did not take long to install. It was a bit tricky for the first install to get the hinge to close rather then open but with a little fiddling you can work it out! It had been used for maybe a month now and I believe I have the spring/hole turned to the 7th notch. Last night I saw that the spring had adjusted after use and I tightened it to hole 8. We shall see how long the internal spring takes to work loose again and I will tighten as nessasry. Wish I could have came up with that invention haha!

Great upgrad from a pneumatic door return.
I've lived with pneumatic automatic door return on my garage fire door for 30+ years. It was always a pain. The Deltana spring-loaded hunges were a wonderful upgrade. This door now opens much easier and quieter. It also was easy to install and adjust to get the door to close completely. I used one on each of the three hinges and loaded each spring with two turns. (Deltana recommends not to exceed three turns for a door that opens 90-degrees. So, I'm sure I've not overstretched the springs.) Finally, the antique brass color is a little harder to find but Deltana offered this. A couple days after installation my wife and are are very pleased with this product.

The picture on the instructions is upside down...rotate the tension bar to the RIGHT, not left as stated.
This review will only make sense if you're familiar with the product. As a woman who's experience with tools has pretty much been limited to hanging picture hooks, I was glad to find this hinge was easy to install on the door. It swapped out easily with the existing hinge. My frustration came, though, with not realizing that the picture on the instructions is upside down. I put the tension bar in and was wrestling it to the left, as both the written instructions and the arrows on the picture show, and at about the point that it felt like the tension bar was going to snap I had only moved the holes one notch. Which then caused my door to simply stay in place instead of always swinging open like it did before. After a little bit - and yes, I realize that for someone even mildly mechanically inclined this would have been immediately apparent - I figured out that the tension bar actually has to move to the right, which it did very easily, as opposed to needing me to lean my weight against it. And then I finally understood why there's a picture of a hex wrench in the hinge, even though there's no place to put one on the top of the hinge. The hex wrench goes in the bottom instead of the top. So, yes, a little slow on the uptake for me, but I don't understand why the manufacturer doesn't simply put the picture right side up on the box. And whoever did their English translating and proof reading apparently gave up part way through, as the English becomes less and less readable as you go. In any case, the hinge seems to be well made. It swings the door slowly closed. And had I known to flip the picture in the instructions, it would have taken under 10 minutes to install.

Awesome Heavy Duty Door Hinges
These heavy duty hinges solve the problem of a door that does not stay closed. You can easily adjust the tension on the hinges to gently close the door without slamming. It is very simple to adjust the tension on springs which close the door. If we choose to leave the door ajar, even the dog can safely push the door open without it springing back on her. I did have to shave out about an eight of an inch from the door jam hinge area to get a proper fit but it was very simple.
