You Get What You Pay For
This vacuum worked fine for me for about 2 years and then the motor burned out this morning. And when I say burned out, literally smoke came out. Considering I paid under $100 dollars for it, that breaks down to less than $50 a year, which isn't bad. Just don't get this vacuum expecting it to last forever. It's an option while you're saving up for something nice. I also really worked this sucker with two cats and my daughter and I both have long hair.

Works great
I clean houses & need something that I can lift in & out of my car easily. This is lightweight & works great. I really like that the handle can be taken off so that it makes it easier to get in & out of the car. It is easy to dump the canister & easy to wash & keep clean, it has been a good investment for me, very happy with it!

So great we bought 2
This is a great versatile vacuum. We have one for our house and when we needed a vacuum for the vacation house l, we didn’t hesitate to but another one of these.

Not as good as my Dirt Devil Power Max XL
I bought this to replace my Dirt Devil Power Max XL which was a really good vacuum. It worked well for us for several years and had a HEPA filter. It was really easy to clean and the circular foam filters could be tossed into the washer for cleaning and were cheap. I bought this to replace it since I could not find the Power Max XL any more and my existing one does not turn on anymore. Here's my review based on comparison to the Power Max XL: Pros: -Definitely cleans very well and has great suction. -canister dumps from the bottom and is easy to disassemble. -long cord -Washable filters. -power switch is conveniently placed. -Edge suction is good. -Reach with wand is "ok". -Comes with attachments. -Belt is the same as my Power Max XL which I have extras for. Cons: -you must detach hose and connect it to the wand to use the wand, whereas my Power Max XL you could just detach the wand and vacuum. Major disadvantage as far as convenience. -Filter cannot be thrown in the washer to clean at least I wouldn't. -No HEPA filter, comes with a carbon filter. However....I took the HEPA from Power Max and found it fit where the carbon filter is...sooo...some food for thought there! -movement suffers same issue as power max when floor level is set for rug on 2, it feels like the bottom wheels are "binding" and is really hard to push. -Height settings do not work for all rugs. We have bare floor and area rugs, 1 is too high and 2 is too low as you can hear the motor load down too much for my liking when set to 2. -handle release pedal is near impossible to release when you have socks on. Same problem with my Power Max XL. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed and honestly thinking this is my last dirt devil. I've stuck with this brand for over 15 years now. It seems like Dirt Devil is moving away from ease of use. For a pet model, I would think a HEPA filter would be standard on this instead of a carbon filter but since I learned the HEPA filter from my old one fits this, I plan on putting it on this machine. I would recommend it just based on it's performance, but honestly, with the cons I listed, I'm not sure I would for any reason other than the good suction and pickup that it has that I would recommend it.

I really wanted to love this vacuum
I bought this as a backup to my Bissell cleanview as my cleanview is about 2 years old and starting to make a lot of noise. I also clean houses for a few friends and family members so I figured I would buy a new vacuum instead of using my old crappy one. If you combined the two vacuum cleaners it would be amazing however there are things about the dirt devil that I like better than the Bissell and there's things about the Bissell that I like far better than the dirt devil.. So I will get into this regarding what I like about the dirt devil and then what I dislike about the dirt devil. First and foremost I read reviews and everybody complained about the button to release the handle into a downright position I figured people were being overdramatic however they are not this is the worst design I have ever seen and it is one of the hardest buttons I've ever had to push with my foot. So I can see how it would snap very easily. This vacuum boasts as being a multi surface vacuum, I wouldn't even call it a carpet vacuum and as far as the pet hair pickup that's a joke this vacuum cleaner has absolutely no suction power whatsoever. Does not work at all on hard surfaces. Also this is the loudest vacuum I have ever owned in my life. Now there are some things that I do like about this vacuum cleaner that I haven't seen on any other vacuums or that are better than other vacuums that I've owned. One being the handle actually lays almost completely flat to get underneath things before the front of the vacuum cleaner lifts up which is absolutely great. Also the wand attachment I really love the extension of it I can reach ceiling fans I can reach vents I can reach so many more things with this vacuum then I can with any other vacuum. The cord is an amazing length however there is no place up higher on the vacuum cleaner to connect the cord so it kind of just drags behind you at your calf which is a weird level for it I've tripped a lot. Also the turbo clone this thing is fantastic it works amazingly far better than the ones on any of the bissles that I've owned which is the clear view and the pet rewind one also my mom has a Hoover that has the same type of attachment and it doesn't work very well either so for that attachment the dirt devil beats everybody. The crevice tool is a little wider than most crevice tools also the brush is actually attached to the crevice tool and it's very short so you can't really reach into longer narrow areas with this guy too well. I feel like overall this isn't a horrible vacuum cleaner but I feel like it's made either for a single person who has like a non-shedding dog or older people who their house doesn't get dirty anyways it is definitely not for someone with multiple animals multiple children and dirt it's just not as powerful as it should be for a household like that.

Great suction power
The suction power cleans up my cat hairs problem and scattered litter. It’s loud but easy to empty what it sucks up.

Poor quality
Stopped working after 3 months. Light weight but feels cheap and poor suction. Now I have to buy something else.

Not as good as expected, dont recommend it
First of all it was easy to asemble, suction is good (I have carpets, I need very good suction). On the negative side: - the overall piece looks cheap, it might not last long - the release button is not user friendly, I expect it will break soon - the dilter is NOT as in the pictures, very disappointing I had a Dirt Devil vacuum xleaner, and was strong and was excellent, but that model is out, they dont make it anymore. I am very dissappointed I did not get the same quality with this new purchase. This will make me go to other brands next time, for sure. ☹️

Overall, I’m impressed.
Miny spinning bar attachment stopped working after only a few attempts at stairs. Machine overall is extremely loud. But definitely gets the job done. If you want a good vacuum that’s on the cheaper end of the spectrum this is the one.

difficult to use
should have 2 extensions for the sweeper hose instead of one. ..... electric cord should come out of the sweeper at the top of it.....
