Did a great job
Bought this to run a new electrical cable through the wall. Worked great, perfect flex to get where it needed to. Looking for other uses as I have only used it once.

Great for fishing cable!
I was running cat6 cable through a 1950's ranch from the basement up into a wall cavity and out an outlet box. From the bedroom I was able to fish this bad Charlie into the wall, drill through the baseplate and subfloor without making a huge mess or a huge hole in the wall that I would need to repair. A perfect tool for the job. The drill size is large enough to run the cat6 line with connector through the hole. Next, installing ceiling lights, led pods, throughout the house using this bad boy.

This Flexy Drill Bit Got the Job Done.
I added an external duplex wall outlet. Power for it was taken from an existing interior GFCI outlet. The 1/2" x 36 inch long drill bit was exactly what I needed to get the job done. The 12/2 UF-B cable had to go from the interior outlet, down through the sub floor and sill (approximately 4.5-inches of wood). This got the 12/2 into the crawl space for easy passage to the exterior wall. While drilling I felt the bit strike a framing nail. But fortunately it wasn't a direct hit. So I was able to get past it without too much trouble. But I suspect the drill bit lost eight of its nine lives from the encounter with the nail. This project would have been more difficult without a long flex bit. No drywall repairs needed, everything was done inside the existing wall and in the crawl space.

Works as advertised
As long as you use a drill with enough torque for the wood you're trying to get through, this works great. I do wish there was an option for some type of holder or support so I can keep it steady when first starting the hole without using my hands.

Gets the job done
Like other reviews have said, this tool goes dull pretty quick (especially when you are drilling through mated timbers). I use my chainsaw file and it takes about 5 minutes to get it in good drilling shape again. Has a lot of flex to it, works well, and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Ran a cable through a noggin in a stud wall
It is a great tool to have. Used it to run a cable through a noggin in a stud wall. I drilled an access hole in the plasterboard and used a cheap endoscope camera to see what I was doing. Found that you need about 10cm height of the hole to get enough angle so the bit hits the middle of the noggin rather than the plasterboard wall because it's not hugely flexible - what I did was cut a 1cm wide channel up/down from the access hole to create the angle for the flex bit to go in. Use the camera to spot where you want it and away you go. Short sharp bursts using the power drill and reversing to clear the bit if it gets stuck is the key. Got through in about 10-15 seconds of drilling.

Excellent product
I was installing some electrical sockets in a bedroom and was unable to drill a hole behind the socket and down through the floor board using a standard length flat bit, even after extending the bit, I could not get the correct angle for the drill. However after some research I came across these drill bits and they are brilliant due to having some flexibility in the shaft I was able to guide the drill into the correct position to allow me to drill an access hole for the cable.

Less bendy than expected
Much less bendy than expected, it’s pretty much solid just long with only a few mm of flex

☹️Not really flexible..not even close to making any, even large 90 deg radius bend with it
☹️Actually this steel rod/drill bit is very hard to flex....useless for any vertical application as you cannot bend it sufficiently if at all. So you cannot use it close the wall, or near the floor, or beside a corner, as you cannot really bend it... This drill bit ( which is NOT really flexible at all) could only help when installing pot lights, drilling through multiple ceiling joists to limit the number of holes in the ceiling, just maybe.. for anything else, just forget about it and do NOT buy it... I will have to return it.. not easy as it came inside of a 7 ft long box... ANNOYING... they should NOT really advertise it as 'flexible'.....in my opinion, this 1/4 steel rod with a drill bit at the end is NOT really flexible...I would call it slightly bending and I am very optimistic here, disappointing.

9/16-Inch by 54-Inch - Very Flexible - Great Value
Bought this for drilling floor joists for wiring new pot lights on our main floor - This bit is exactly what you need and appears to be excellent quality -As an Electrician I would highly recommend this bit over the big names (greenlee, GB and Irwin). A word of caution..... be very careful drilling what you can not see!!! Planning is very important!
