So cute
My grandson 3yr old, loved this. I was disappointed the pieces of the dino and the gem stone were in a plastic bag not in the "dirt" I had to try to hide the pieces when he was opening it so he could dig for them.

Not long lasting
The idea is cool but there isn’t much to it. There realty isn’t any digging needed. My 8 year old lost interest rather quickly.

Don’t really have to dig much
This is an ok little project for a dinosaur lover but if you are looking for something that requires the user RJ really dig or chip and “work” to discover the Dino than this isn’t it. The rocky sticking mixture is easy to work with and easy to clean up and store (yay!) but it doesn’t provide much of a challenge when digging out the bones and jem. Overall, I wouldn’t get this again. The price is pretty good and it provides some entertainment but it isn’t going to be a lasting favorite. I hope this review is helpful!

Multiple uses for extended play
My kids have had plenty of different dig sets like this before. Usually they’re rocks or crystals that just end up in a drawer or thrown away. I love this set because you can dig out the bones, build the triceratops and then break it all down and do it again. The gravel stuff is definitely next level and hasn’t been an issue cleaning up at all. It doesn’t dry out so it is perfect for reusing.

Great sensory experience that’s different than just sand
The media could not be loaded. Says for 5+, my 2.5 year old really enjoyed this! The sticky rock/shell concoction was a different sensory experience for him than kinetic sand and was new to me as well. It isn’t messy in the least bit and is easy to mold and shape. When done, you just store the rock mixture in the volcano for next use. There are 3 small molds on the volcano so you can use them to make a shell as well as a couple other items. It comes with a small scooper to dig as well as a small crystal. The plastic crystal is small and a choking hazard to a young toddler, but that’s the only choking hazard in set. Would have liked to see this come with a couple more crystals to dig for, but oh well. All in all, kept my toddler amused for a bit and is small and manageable- not too overwhelming for him. Rock mixture feels good to play with. Definitely recommend for older toddler!

Great little toy
This is a great gift for a child who loves dinosaurs and sensory type items - it's not messy because it doesn't fall apart like kinetic sand. It's almost like a sticky gravel? Lots of fun for littles.

Grandchild approved!
My grandson loves all things dinosaur so this was a perfect project for him! It is hands-on and educational at the same time. I don't care what age you are it's fun to find hidden surprises and this did not disappoint. It's a great platform to encourage discussion about dinosaurs, or just to occupy a child so you can have a little break. I don't advise you leave them alone while doing it, to help mitigate any mess that occurs. It is more of a one man job because of it's smaller size so you can just observe and help to keep the mess in one place. I would get another of these for my other grandkids to do!

Fun digging adventure for the budding archeologist
There is something amazing about the discovery process in using these kinds of digging adventure kits. Even though you and the child know there will be a "dino" inside, it is still amazing. Sparking that spirit of adventure and discovery is a joy. Well-made set up is one of the nicest of these kinds of kits we have tried.

Nice activity gift.
Dino dig. Great little activity to do with my daughter. She loves dinosaurs and has been learning about fossils at preschool so when we did this together she was fully engaged. The bones come apart and placed in the sand type material for children to use the tiny spade included to dig around for the bones and then assemble them at the end. At the moment we keep digging for them and putting them back as she's too young (3.5) to assemble the skeleton, and for this reason it really should be done with supervision until she's older. The sand hasn't dried out. My only gripe is the volcano doesn't stay closed very well, and so you'll have to keep scooping the sand back in if you don't keep it somewhere secured when in use. But all in all a great little gift

Triceratops Dino Dig
I ordered this Tricerotops Dino Dig set for my grandson who loves to play with new things when he comes over to visit me. Everything you need to play with this set is included. The 2 ended tool is brilliant as it is a shovel and a brush to sweep away the dirt as you dig. My grandson absolutely loved playing with this fossil, set as he was delighted whenever he unearthed a surprise. Between the two of us it took a little patience but at the end we had a magnificent Tricerotops to play with which again my Grandson was delighted with. We loved this so much that we ordered another kit in a different design to play with. Great for supervised play for younger children or for older children to occupy themselves with.

Short lived activity
Once you open the plastic volacano casing you find the dinosaur at the back of the dino dirt alongside a gem, I was expecting to dig around in the dino dirt so this was quite dissapointing. The dinosaur skeleton was smaller than i expected and quite fiddly to put together due to the small parts, I think a 3 year would struggle to put thsi togetehr and would definetly need supervising. The dino dirt was quite dissapointing as well, very tightly compacted, while you are supplied with a small plastic digging tool thsi was off no use at all digging into the dirt when it's so compacted inside the volcanoe. I gave my son a metal spoon to dig out the dino dirt after he gave up trying to use the plastic digging tool supplied. I gave 3* as it's a nice concept with the volcano case for storing the dino dirt, creating your iown fossils with the dino dirt was exciting and the booklet was very informative just thought it is expensive for what it is.

Fun straight forward digging sand!
This ‘volcano’ dig discovery is such a fun set for my dinosaur max toddler. He’s only 2 and a half so it’s fin for us to do together. In the pack your get the volcano, inside the volcano is the ‘Dino mud’ which you dig through using the spade provided. To uncover all kinds of mysteries. (Dinosaur bones, a gem) In the whole set you get: reusable dino dirt, digging tool, Triceratops bones, volcano case with fossil moulds, mystery gem, and dino fact card The Dino dirt is reusable, and my son loves to do this over and over. So for me it’s excellent value for money. However I can see how it may be a one hit wonder for some children there for making it quite expensive.

Fun and reusable
My son has 2 of these Dino digs he lobes the Dino dirt as its mould able easy to dig into. Doesn't make to much mess it looks sticky but doesnt stick to anything. Fits inside the volcano and can be stored and sealed in there its hard plastic. This doesn't come with 6 things to find in the Dino dirt when you dig it out it has 1 bag to find in the bag is dinosaur bones that clip together (instructions included) and 1 gem. The findings g stuff in the dirt is over preety quick but can have hours of fun re-uning rhe Dino dirt after and the mini digging tool that comes with it.
