No Manual, and No Apparent Way to Get One
Well made and I like having both a motor and a hand-crank, but there were parts included with this that I had no idea how to use, and NO MANUAL. The on-line video did not show either part being used. Going to the Elite Gourmet web site and following the links to get a manual did not work, and when I tried to find a manual elsewhere on line I was steered to a dangerous site. I finally called Amazon Customer Service, and was relayed to a product support tech who sent a message to the company asking them to send me a manual, but they were closed for the day so I may or may not get one. I still want a manual, and think it's ridiculous for a company not to include one with a fairly expensive item, but Amazon WAS able to confirm that one of these parts was a "Stirrer" (that I probably will never use) and the other was a "Stabilizer Ring" -- the latter apparently goes on the bottom of the barrel with the flanges "down" to help keep the metal tank centered. I have been using similar ice cream freezers since childhood and have never seen one of these, but at least I now know what it is and how it is used. A Manual would have saved me a LOT of time though.

Should have bought one years ago
Couldn’t be happier with this freezer. Works perfectly and love that it can be electric or manual. Our ice cream is better than store bought.

Just leave it in the freezer!
I actually didn’t think this is gonna work I own a KitchenAid in so I was going to buy the KitchenAid attachment but that thing is so big and cumbersome. I literally only need to make ice cream for my daughter and myself and mostly my daughter cost-effective. The ice cream is good literally piece of merchandise I bought in a long time.

Great ice cream maker. It's large
Absolutely love this! Works fantastic and sooo easy to use and clean. Very quiet compared to my old one. Thinking on making this my Christmas to my family this year because now it’s like I am making ice cream constantly. My whole family loves it Made a simple vanilla batch today. While reading the recipe I noticed the ingredients would no way test the capacity of the mixing cylinder. So I doubled it and proceeded. Maybe filled it half way. But I wanted to get an ice cream maker that would make enough to last a while. Dessert for breakfast and lunch deserve a try right? Easy to clean up. The electric motor fit well and sounded strong enough. I didn't run it until it stopped on its own. I guessed a little earlier than the instructions suggested and employed the old hand crank. The hand crank goes on the opposite way than I first tried. I thought there was going to be a problem. I must have overlooked that part of the instruction. Maybe explaining it would be confusing. Suffice it to say when you attempt to place the hand on the wooden tub, it only goes on one way. The tub was easy to clean. I rinsed it quite thoroughly. I did fill it with water two hours before my ice cream making process per the instructions so the water would get the wooden tub's material to expand. It still leaked a bit at the base inside the space that is out of site. But it was maybe a half cup of salted water. I expect this leaking issue will decrease or go away all together after a few more uses. Little assembly necessary. Just a Phillips screw drive for the screw in the hand crank handle. I tightened the screws for the hardware that holds the hand crank/electric crank since the screw driver was at the ready. After this first use I can say so far so good. I am happy with the complete product. 9251

Works but flimsy
This worked but the paddle arm kept getting stuck since it is very flimsy. I ended up returning it and bought an old fashioned style that was much more sturdy.

Makes a mess
I followed the instruction and pre soaked the wooden bucket as directed and it still leaked excessively
