I purchased this chair in Jan 2022. I have used this chair as an office chair and sit in it on a daily basis to do computer work. The chair is rated for up to 300 lbs. I weight 180 lbs. I do not abuse the chair. There are no shenanigans. I sit on it. That's it. Today, Nov 2022, while at my desk, the chair gave out and collapsed. I fell to the ground hitting my head on the wooden floor. Needless to say, I am now suffering from a huge headache and, about an hour later, my neck is hurting. I immediately attempted to contact the manufacturer/seller, but to no avail. No contact information was on the Amazon site. I then contacted Amazon customer support chat. I hoped that I could receive a refund or that Amazon could replace it with another chair -- not this same one, clearly. However, the customer service rep informed me that the return time period had lapsed and offered $10 as a way to apologize. I understood why there was nothing that could be done. However, I wanted to make sure the most important issue was being addressed. I, therefore, asked the customer service rep if he could please inform Amazon of the safety issue with the chair, as I was very concerned this could happen to other customers who purchase the chair. I was then asked for my mobile number and told someone would call me. I received a call from Amazon right away. They listened to my concerns about the safety issues and obvious design flaw the chair has and informed me that they would be submitting my concerns to the appropriate department to investigate further. I asked them to please take it seriously, because this design flaw should NOT be overlooked. In all honesty, I don't believe this chair should be sold on Amazon given the design flaw and serious safety concerns it poses. You can see from the pictures how the legs (spokes) are actually separate and not part of one complete metal frame. I should have noticed this from the start, but I'm not an engineer and simply didn't realize this was a design flaw until the leg broke today. I since have looked at other chairs on Amazon and see that many are made from one, solid metal piece and, thus, something like this situation could never happen. And, if you look at the pictures, the bolts do not even go into the plastic round base that connects each leg to it. Instead, each leg is separately interconnected to plastic and the plastic is actually GLUED to the round plastic base that connects to the metal post that connects to the top of the seat, which I find to be incredibly flawed. Again, I wish I would have taken note to this before. Lesson learned -- the HARD way. Pun intended. So, please. If you are actually going to buy this item, please know that it has a real possibility of one or more of the legs breaking in this manner. And, if that happens with you in it, you're hitting the floor hard. In my humble opinion, there are many other well designed chairs out there without this risk that should be considered before considering this chair as your final option.
