Estes classic rocket from the early 80’s.
I always wanted to build this kit, although I was disappointed that 2 of the tubes were crushed and I couldn’t believe how small the fins were. I’m going to cut my fins out of a sheet of balsa wood from the local Hobby House. I always thought this rocket needed a larger fin design.

Better than the original.
In 1982 my Jr.High science class held a "Rocket week"... a couple kids bought this one and they both failed miserably. Failure was due to them rushing through the build and not using enough glue. One caught fire on launch when the engine assembly came loose inside the tube and shot 1/2 up the tube, the other the kid didn't glue the shock cord down well enough and when the nose cone popped off... the rocket fell to the ground and the cone and chute flew off to who knows where. I built this in a day or so and after a couple layers of paint.. it flew straight and came down perfectly.... very nice looking rocket, very nice flight. This rocket is about 6'5'' when completed, Estes improved the design by putting a plastic coupler right in the middle of it. so it breaks down into 2 separate 3 foot sections for transport. Easy build, great flying rocket.

Awesome!
This was my "Mystery Rocket" for my class at school. Stands around 6'3"! Used a D12-5 Engine and didn't go too high, high enough for the kids, but the next launch will be with an E16-6 engine. I did cut a hole in the parachute to allow for faster decent, of which was fine and did not damage the rocket at all. Definitely show stopper! Did a custom paint scheme on it too! We are a "Class Divided" with half of it the University of Michigan and the other half Michigan State. Turned out awesome!

Great Rocket Kit
I wish this had a larger engine port to accommodate larger engines, but honestly, it's still a great rocket. My first launch put it over an electrical tower, but the public works guys were more than nice and got it back for me and the rocket even held up and is able to be launched again. The most unique part is the break down section where you're able to break the rocket into 2 sections for transport. Very helpful.

Super impressive and fun build overall.
Great simple assembly (if u have some experience building model rockets) and easy enough to follow instructions. End result is an impressive looking rocket that looks like it means business. Launch was really fun and suprised me that its really strong (when built correctly) was able to successfully launch and recover 3 times really fun

BIG Rocket
Just a few shorts words. This IS one big rocket. So big in fact that a standard launch rod from a kit from walmart will not suffeciently keep it pointing straight up. I purchased a Mantis Launch Pad and now I can launch much bigger rockets. The rocket holds up well and I had it for maybe 10 launches. As a grand finale i taped a D10-0 to D10-0 to E9-8, effectively making a 3 stage rocket....The upper stage did not deploy te chute and it came down hard and made my near 8 foot rocket 2 feet long.
